July 1, 20232 yr Bohm with a 4 hit and 6 RBI day. Apparently tomorrow is a Alex bohm cooling headband giveaway

What’s amazing with bohm is with Risp he’s hitting .354 (.328 when someone is at least on base) and when no one is on base he’s hitting .231. At the moment outside of yesterday, the three guys that are absolutely killing the Phillies right now are actually Kyle Schwarber, Bryce harper and JT Realmuto. They’ve been horrible with runners in scoring position. If they were just like average, the Phillies would probably have at least maybe three or four more wins. Schwarber is hitting .185 with RISP, harper is hitting .212 with RISP (he’s gotten better lately he was down around .182 two weeks ago) and realmuto is hitting .181 with RISP. I’d say Turner too but he’s at least hitting .253 with RISP and he was all the way down at .170ish a month ago. i think bohm has looked better lately cause his timing is back from where it was prior to the injury and that injury likely is healed more. I do think it was bothering him the first week or two he was back cause it wasn’t fully recovered

You have to be able to hit for power. Hall gives them that, but this is a short term solution to a long-term problem. If Rhys Hoskins is not brought back. You have a hole at first base unless you’re going to move Harper to first base moving forward. I don’t think they want to do that full-time. I think they want to move Castellanos into left field and have Harper play right field again with schwarber DHing. I’ve said this quite a few times I think the player that makes the most sense for the Phillies at the trade deadline is Cody Bellinger. He can play all three positions in the outfield in first place. He’s a good fielder at first and outfield. He also gives you some power and hitting that the Phillies could use. He is a rental, so if he leaves early in free agency to get a nice contract you’re going to get those draft picks for him leaving

I never feel good against any team no matter how bad they are because the Phillies have a special ability to play worse than the worst teams.

If they lose today they are 3-3 vs. the nats this year, 2-4 vs. Mets, 2-4 vs. atlanta and 1-2 vs. marlins. Meaning 8-13 vs. NL east. They have 18 games in September against the Mets, Braves and marlins. That’s not good.
July 2, 20232 yr Phillies really just need to make a Fing trade to get another hitter. You basically are screwing yourself playing hall, sosa or Clemens every game. None of them are starters or consistent enough to be playing everyday and are bench guys. Also if you make the trade a chance it jump starts the offense
July 2, 20232 yr Never been a Hall fan. He's supposed to have more power than Clemens and he might, but it isn't enough to feel comfortable having him play on a consistent basis. Every at bat he's chopped the ball on the ground.

He and marsh are bad against LHP. Hall is a career .125. They really should’ve had sosa bat for hall and even thought about pache for marsh. also we really need to consider moving bohm up in the lineup. He’s hitting .354 with RISP. Until he cools off give him more opportunities. Go schwarber turner casty harper bohm stott realmuto marsh hall/sosa

July 2, 20232 yr 4 minutes ago, vsptroops said: He needs to bat in the 9 hole. Screw his feelings. I wouldn’t go that far but bohm batting 7th when he’s absolutely crushing it with RISP is ridiculously dumb especially 3 months into the year and realmuto has been dogshit with RISP. The most ideal lineup right now is schwarber turner castellanos harper bohm stott realmuto marsh hall/sosa
July 2, 20232 yr Next 19 games are gonna be really telling. Have 3 at tampa, 3 at Miami, 4 vs. padres, 3 vs Milwaukee, 3 at cleveland and 3 vs. Baltimore. Facing a lot of good teams in tampa, Miami and baltimore. Milwaukee is right on par with us. cleveland is around .500. and only the padres are bad but have chance to still turn it around with that lineup.
