Lol the fact wheeler is going Sunday is ridiculous. I believe he’s gonna pitch one less start over the course of the year cause they did this.

I don’t get why he’s not at first if it’s going to be next Tuesday. If they start him at first on Tuesday did the extra 5 days really make a Fing difference? No.

This team is done

What a lineup for game 1.  Bold strategy to throw away games when you’re not even in a playoff spot

Yup sitting bryce harper and stott for sosa and Ellis. Not only that sosa and Elisshitting 6 and 7th.

Rojas really saved Suarez in this inning. good play by him

Between Suarez walk and turner’s decision on that groundball this team is gonna get smoked in this series.

Turner is garbage

Turner should’ve thrown to first. Mistake on his part with how the result ended up. Would’ve ended the inning and avoided the situation and be tied. Even if Turner throws to first for the out sosa’s supposed to be covering second and expecting a throw might occur not just assume turner is going to first. We’ve seen with 2 outs and a force at second that stott and Turner do that routinely. It’s miscommunication on that play from two guys who don’t play the middle infield with each other very often

again, stott is out there he knows Turner better as they play together more routinely than sosa does at second. But our manager refuses to play stott vs. lefties even though he hits .322 against them

Team deserves to lose.  Hope they get swept.  Please sell

Castellanos has had a really good year and deserved to be an all star but so far in July through 9 games and 2 at bats this game he’s really struggling at the plate. He’s hitting .220 and .238 OBP.

The offense is hard to watch.

They have an offense?, I thought they were just automatically going to the top of each inning

the entire team besides harper, stott and bohm can’t hit consistently right now. Stott hitting .379 this month on the bench when he hits lefties at a .322 clip. Bohm is hitting .394 this month. Harper is hitting .333 but has no power. Everyone else has been pretty much bad including castellanos

I’m all for that but I think most teams realize what he is

Buster onley on 975 yesterday talked about how starting pitchers might not make nearly as much in the future and going forward. He said teams he’s talked to around the league See that starring pitchers that reach free agency tend to break down faster. So they don’t want to pay them as much and rather go the route of just building a stronger bullpen with the money. So there’s a chance that Aaron Nola in free agency was going to get anywhere close to what he was expecting even if he pitched good this year

he also said doesn’t see the cardinals trading arenado or goldschmidt

That would actually be less painful.

Castellenos swinging at bouncing balls not a good sign...

Speaking of 97.5, it is only a matter of time before they are playing country music, that station is headed down the tubes

They need to change the lineup. It’s clearly not working especially in July. Your top 3 hitters have been garbage along with JT being brutal in the 5 hole when runners get on or in scoring position

top 3 in the lineup in July
Schwarber .181 with a .234 OBP and 14ks
Turner .220 with a .232 OBP and 15Ks
Castellanos .214 with a .232 and 13 Ks

Yeah since he was named an all star he’s looked awful. This month he’s hitting .214 and .232 OBP.
