Nola is complete garbage. He’s so weak mentally.

2022 castellanos right now

I think we can safely say Harper can adequately play 1st base

Besides the top five guys not hitting like we need them to the other major issue on this team is that you have to play someone like hall, sosa or cave way too much. They need just another bat in general. Just go out and get bellinger so when harper plays every other day you have a legit 1b and a legitimate bat. Maybe his arrival sparks the team as well

LMAO. He just gave up on that at bat.

This is the thing that irritates me with Kevin long as the hitting coach is Turner, Schwarber, Realmuto, and Castellanos all have the same problem right now. Their approach at the plate is them just swinging at bad pitches that aren’t close. He’s done a good job with Bryson, Stott, bohm and marsh but the veterans on this team have had the same issue most of the year besides Castellanos were it’s been like this for a month. As a hitting coach you have to be able to identify a problem with your veteran players and get them to make some adjustments based off what you are seeing. Been none.

Not sure why we are having marsh trying to steal second with cave up. Don’t want to get end the inning on a caught stealing when you can flip the lineup back over to start the 7th and not have cave leadoff

Credit to nola for recovering after his first 3 innings. Went 7 and only took him 85 pitches. Also overcame an error by bohm that inning

Fitting with how we are playing with 2 outs in the 9th up 1 and kimbrel gives up a homer to a team that’s 29th in the league in homers. Right on cue for the Phillies.

JFC so castellanos won’t swing at a ball right down the middle of the plate but will swing away at crap bouncing or close to bouncing. To the plate.

He looks like last year this past month. Extremely frustrating to watch

They’re going to blow this. I have no idea why Thomson put Hoffman into this game. He should have left Kimbrel in.

On top of it going from Hoffman to marte. He deserves to be ripped apart after this game. Especially Nola could’ve pitched the 8th after only throwing 85 pitches

I’ll never speak ill of marte again… lol

If this team wants to show they are for real then they need to take 2/3 from the orioles this week

Kid is quickly becoming my favorite player. Bryce is still the man, but Stott just rarely has a bad at bat. Even if he strikes out, he normally makes the pitcher work for it and pumps up the pitch count.

He’s pretty much the prototypical leadoff hitter… yet they instead keep rolling Schwarber out there to either get a quick out, or hit a solo shot. I don’t get it. It would make far more sense to have Stott leading off, then maybe Bohm after him so there may actually be runners on base for Schwarber.

To your second point I brought this up the other day. Stott and bohm should be hitting 1-2 in the order. Stott this month is hitting .368 with a .410 OBP. Bohm this month is hitting .312 with a .391 OBP. that’s ridiculously good by both. If you have that 1-2 and then harper and schwarber 3rd and 4th better chance that you score some runs for multiple reasons. Both usually take a lot of pitches so can wear down the pitcher. Schwarber can hit a bomb with 1-2 men on and score multiple runs.

The other issue right now is schwarber, castellanos, realmuto and Turner have been bad this month with average and Obp. Schwarber is hitting .187 with .244 OBP.  Turner is hitting .253 with a .292 OBP. Castellanos is .173 with a .194 OBP. Realmuto is hitting .188 with RISP on the year and this month is hitting .245 with a .310 OBP. They need those 4 to be way better. Especially if they aren’t going to change the lineup. Their best lineup right now might be

stott

bohm

harper

schwarber

castellanos

marsh

turner

realmuto

cave/Rojas/sosa
