July 24, 20232 yr The only potential issue I see with trading for Bellinger is that the Cubs may not be sellers. They’re only 5.5 back of the wildcard, 6.5 of the division and have 6 games coming up again the lowly WhiteSox and Cardinals prior to the trade deadline. As much as he’s a great fit, it likely won’t work out.

As much as he’s a great fit, it likely won’t work out. Currently the cubs are in one of the easiest part of their schedule. Had Nats for 3, cardinals for 4 then white Sox for 2 and cardinals for 4. After that they face the reds for 4, Braves for 3, Mets for 3 and blue jays for 3. I think this week is likely the make or break for the cubs as sellers or buyers. My guess is if the cubs aren’t within 3 games or less of the last wild card spot by the time they get to the reds on July 31st they are likely selling. Looking at the cubs September schedule it is pretty brutal outside of the 9 games vs. Rockies and pirates. They got 4 at reds, 3 vs. SF, 4 vs. Az, 3 at Az, 3 at atlanta and 3 at Milwaukee. 20 games vs. teams over .500 and in the playoffs at the moment.
July 24, 20232 yr Feels like a letdown. Since July 1st he’s not been nearly as good .214/.365/.310/.675. Prior to July he was .284/.353/.511/.863. So besides OBP there’s a significant drop off. So maybe he snaps out of it or just returning back to what he’s been last 3 years of .231/.324/.372/.696

Totally underwhelming pickup if they want to target him as an every day outfielder.

July 24, 20232 yr I’m glad to see they aren’t in the mix for any big move. They don’t seem to have it this year as a number of regulars are underperforming. Personally Id stand pat and see what happens.

Frankly Harrison and cave shouldn’t even be on the roster. Can’t tell me kingery can’t be as good as cave or Harrison if not better. Sosa likely looks better if he’s not starting 3 games per week. He’s a fine bench guy. Better hope the Phillies don’t miss the playoffs by like 1-3 games cause there’s going to be people that grill them for benching guys like today and harper a day after a off day and crap like that
July 24, 20232 yr Fing Turner. On the plus side, Sanchez has been such a pleasant surprise this year.
