In the admittedly small sample size, Harper is a far better defensive first baseman than Rhys, in addition to obviously being a better hitter. I guess that’s kind of what they’d have to do, but I don’t look forward to seeing Schwarber in LF again.

We talking short term or long term? short term he’s likely strictly DH to limit his running on the knee to just running the bases. So basically would have schwarber in of and harper at first. Unfortunate but they miss hoskins ability to work the pitcher and take pitches along with his power and hitting with RISP long term i think you are likely moving harper back to the outfield and schwarber to DH. I am not sure Rhys is brought back in 2024. I think if he’s cheap enough they’d do it for a 1 year deal. But if not likely either getting a OF or 1b depending on what harper wants to do. But could address either and harper plays the other position.
July 26, 20232 yr At some point they have to take schwarber out of the leadoff spot he’s been atrocious since June 22 (28 games not including tonight). He is hitting .165/.252/.365/.617.

July 26, 20232 yr Ranger Suarez going for his 5th consecutive start of 3+ walks. Nevermind just giving up a 3 run homer instead.

July 26, 20232 yr When is the last time the Phillies Had a 3 run homerun? This offense is just embarrassing

It's so obvious to everyone but him that Stott is the prototypical leadoff guy. His decisions have been mind-boggling.
July 26, 20232 yr I know umpires have been bad for awhile, but the pitch/strike calls this year have seemed to be especially terrible. Horrendous strike three call on Schwarber. Struck out when only one "strike" was even an actual strike.
July 26, 20232 yr I present schwarber… dude has no business being in the leadoff spot with how awful he’s been over the last month

Was a meatball waiting to be hit 400Ft. Was a bad 3rd strike call but he missed the best pitch of the at bat to hit.
July 26, 20232 yr Another quick out for Schwarber. So ridiculous to have a .182 hitter in the leadoff spot.

If bohm and stott get on like they have all he needs is to just connect with a ball and it’s a 3 run or 2 run shot. The issue is when he hits homers since he’s leadoff it tends to be solo shots
