He’s has some power but really he’s a doubles and triples type guy and at petco i think that fits better. CBP is better for power hitters (except this year as we seem to lack it besides schwarber)

I couldn’t give a flying F less if he’s a lefty if he hits like that. Also look at the right handed bats that are actually available. None are hitting that well in their splits. Plus he’s a gold glove outfielder and good at first for when harper has a day off at first. to point out he’s hitting better against lefties then all the right handed batters available at the deadline. And better than most against right handed pitchers then the RH batters available.
July 27, 20232 yr If they dealt for bellinger i really don’t think their lineup would be too left handed to where they run into problems. I’m guessing Thomson would do this 1. schwarber (Lefty) 2. Turner (righty) 3. harper (lefty) 4. Castellanos (righty) 5. Bellinger (lefty) 6. Realmuto (righty) 7. Stott (lefty) 8. bohm (righty) 9. Marsh/Rojas/pache (platoon depending on the starting pitcher which they like to do anyway with marsh)

He’s going to cost a lot though and is a free agent after this year

If it’s actually de La Cruz and rincones I’m 100% doing it. Have Crawford, Rojas and marsh as young players under control. And harper is likely going back to OF at some point. Have a feeling it’s gonna cost McGarry and de La Cruz.
July 28, 20232 yr Cubs are 4 back of the WC and 5.5 back of the division. You can forget about Bellinger at this point.

At this point, I doubt they would unless you severely overpay. It’s why I said you’ll probably have to put McGarry in there, De La Cruz, and likely another prospect like Ricones. I doubt the Phillies want to pay that severe of a price to make the cubs make the move for a rental and even then the cubs may ask for more At this point, you’re likely looking at an Adam Duvall, who since coming back from his wrist injury in early June hasn’t looked all that great. Since June 1 he’s .200/.272./373/.645 with 4HRs. I frankly do not want to give up prospects for a 35 year old that in three of the last five years has shown he doesn’t stay healthy and one of the years only played 60 games so you don’t know if you would’ve stayed healthy. He’s a power or really nothing type of hitter. We already have that in Schwarber. He’s better defensively but he also is likely to miss games as he’s shown that the last couple years. His 2021 is the outlier year

Also curious to know what the dodgers have heard with ohtani. They set themselves up financially to make the splash for Ohtani in the offseason. I don’t think when they did that it included adding someone like arenado with what he’s owed.
