Cause if you have schwarber, stott and harper 1-3 you have 3 straight lefties. Meanwhile with bohm can break that up and has been really good with RISP on the year

The only way I think they could get this offense generating where we believe they would is to make a trade for someone like a Juan Soto. And I don’t think they want to give up the prospect it’s going to cost to get that type of guy. I think they could get somebody like an Adam Duvall but he’s not gonna solve your problems. You’re still going to likely be slightly better, but with the same issue a majority of the time. To be perfectly honest if I can’t find a bat that makes a major impact then I might actually just go and get another bullpen arm. Also see what the price is going to be on an impact starter. Because if you’re not gonna hit or you’re not gonna get a guy that’s gonna really jolt the offense you might as well go all in on pitching and just hope it last you through the playoffs.

How awesome would it be if they get an arm or 2 and then Hoskins back in the playoffs? A lot has to go right for that to fall into place but, would be awesome

The other issue is he is going to be your DH. They aren’t going to let him play the field that soon after the injury. which means you have to play Kyle Schwarber in the outfield and harper at 1b. Harper is fine but schwarber it’s a problem. Also usually with a torn acl with hitting you tend to not be the same until a full season after returning.

When you are 3rd in the league in swinging at pitches outside the zone there’s a problem. There’s like 3 guys that tend not to chase all the time at pitches. The rest do it routinely. How many times have we seen schwarber go to a knee trying to hit a ball that’s low and out of the zone? How many times has castellanos swung at a pitch that bounced to the plate? How many times has turner swung at a pitch at his feet or at his shoulders? so they either aren’t listening to him or he isn’t addressing it. Either way a problem
