July 30, 20232 yr Turner is just bad at baseball, I’m afraid. I still think this is an overall good team that will likely make the playoffs, but it’s sickening thinking about having that suck at shortstop for the next decade.

July 30, 20232 yr I think its 50/50 that they even make the playoffs. I have it that high only because MLB decided to dilute the playoff field more than it was. Granted, it worked for us last year but that was proven to be lightening in a bottle. If this team gets in the playoffs, they maybe can win the wildcard round. I stress maybe. After that? They will get smoked by whomever they play in 4 games max. This is a fundamentally flawed team every which way you can think starting with that brain dead manager. I also hope DD doesn't do something dumb and trade any top prospects. Let it ride for the rest of the year and reset in the offseason.

So you hope he turns it around next year. You hope he does snap out if it next year or is dealing with an injury. but he has done the same thing all year. He goes for 5-6 at bats looking like he’s gonna snap out of it then reverts. His last two at bats on Saturday were good at bats. His first two at bats today even with the strikeout (horrific call by the ump) looked good. Then he reverts back to being lost and not sure long is getting him out of it Castellanos has reverted and I’d argue he’s actually worse than he was last year since June 14. Since he middle of June he’s been the worst average, OBP, and OPS on the team. He’s played 11 months of baseball with the Phillies and was good for 2.5 months and the rest he’s been bad and now he’s awful. Heck he cost them multiple runs yesterday with his defense. now realmuto has been bad and likely declining since last year. Good second half in 2022. Bad in the first half of 2022 and been just about the same in 2023. He might just be declining and played so many more innings then the next catcher that this is who he is. schwarber is a homer, walk or out. He offers little else than those things. He and relamuto have been atrocious with RISP harper lacks power and makes the same idiotic base running mistakes. Add the manager has become what girardi was before he got fired. These were the issues and mistakes that got girardi fired **turner’s fly ball in the 10th was far enough to get harper home. There was two base running mistakes. First harper misjudged how far the ball went and didn’t tag up. He’d have scored. Second bohm screwed up not reading what harper was doing cause he assumed harper was going home

This is their record by months March/April:15-14 may: 10-15 june: 18-8 july: 13-11 (lose tomorrow 13-12 or win 14-11) To add on the Phillies haven’t had a winning record in September since 2017. So there’s that whole issue the Phillies haven’t solved and in a race with 6 other teams for the WC. They need to just get super hot in august cause they might flounder in September but with a killer august survive it . september 2022: 11-14 september/October 2021:14-16 september/October 2020: 13-17 september/October 2019: 12-16 september/October 2018: 8-20 September/October: 16-13
