August 1, 20232 yr I just moved and evening games now start at noon my time (hawaii) which is great when I'm not at work but sucks for the days I am working. My first two weeks here I took leave and I was able to watch every game around lunch and then go about the rest of my day, I can't wait for football season when I can wake up and start drinking at 7am for the 1pm games

We went on our honeymoon over there back in 2007 and it was a weird feeling to get up and see football on TV. It's even crazier when you watch the Primetime games. When the game is over, it's only dinner time out there.
August 1, 20232 yr They won a game and didn't commit any errors last night - they probably think they're right where they need to be
August 1, 20232 yr In all honesty though - if the vets on this team would start playing just AVERAGE baseball, we'd run away with the wild card. They don't even need to be good. Just average. The kids are keeping them afloat currently.

It's fairly likely that proven players will eventually start to play to their previous form.

Love harper but eh came back in 160 days from TJ. Ohtani was 220 and he also struggled with his power the season he came back. It took him until around 250 days to get more power. Had 15 homers after that point. Harper right now is at 250. So there’s the hope he starts getting it some of it back. Turner does this routine where he begins to see pitches well and string like 6-8 at bats together that are good. Then he reverts back to what he’s done most of the year. Not sure like heyman said that’s changing this year. as for castellanos, he’s had the same approach he’s had all year. The difference was April to mid June, he’d connect more with the pitches in the zone even thought he had a high swing and miss rate. that still stemmed from him swinging at a lot of pitches out of the zone. Now he’s missing in and out of the zone. I hope he turns it around but this has been an issue since mid to end of June. Realmuto just cannot hit with RISP. It’s been his issue all year. He’s at .195. I’m totally shocked the marlins were dumb enough to intentionally walk him last night to face stott. Even with a force out at any base and potential double play set up, it was unlikely you get that with stott and more likely realmuto strikes out or fails to come up big. Cause he has been miserable with RISP all year. He unfortunately might be on the decline.

August 1, 20232 yr I’m proud of Dave for not paying a high price for mediocre players. Ride it out with what you have

August 1, 20232 yr Lorenzen is solid and a good addition to the rotation. I'm just wondering which current starter would move to a bullpen role. Sanchez has pitched so well lately, I don't really want to move him out of the rotation.

August 1, 20232 yr Sanchez is just about at his career high innings pitched in a season right now, 97. They'll either move him to the pen or find some other way to limit his innings moving forward. I doubt they let him get over 130 IP for the season.

He's almost at his career high (105.2 of 113.1 way back in 2015). He's pretty much a back-of-rotation/bullpen guy.
