If the Phillies can manage to pull away with the first wild card they could really set themselves up well for the playoffs. if you don’t have to throw wheeler, lorenzen, nola, walker and Ranger Suárez as much can help with their freshness going into the postseason. Add on can not drain the bullpen as much heading into the postseason and have them be fresh when the postseason hits as well. I thought by the end of the World Series guys started to show that they were worn down particularly nola and even wheeler in his first WS start (remember he also missed 3 weeks in august/September last year due to arm fatigue/elbow). If you can wrap it 2 weeks prior then can skip some starts or just throw minimal innings along with the 6 man rotation they are using.

This team couldn’t hit homers for like a month and now they are hitting like 2-4 a game. Nice to see. They had missed that power from harper and Rhys being out for the year. 

Sanchez really settled in after that rocky start.
