Wheeler gives up a base hit and then removed from the game. What's the point of having him even go out there then?

Just saw this, really shouldn’t have sent him back out there. He’s already got a lot of innings on him. Up 11 runs no need for him to go back out there and potentially risk an injury even if he’s at 77 pitches. Frankly not sure why they went to soto as well. They don’t have an off day til Thursday and who knows if they’ll need him today. They definitely didn’t need to use him on Saturday. It really should’ve just been covey for two innings.

Alright we got a Phillies delight here today going up against a pitcher who has an ERA near 15 so you know what that means?

Two days in a row we didn’t give up a run in the first. Do it tomorrow that’s called a streak!

alright that was fast!

No surprise Rom is Cy Young we all knew that would happen. Only a matter of time before Nola implodes

It’s the Phillies way to score 12 runs yesterday then see a pitcher they haven’t seen before and struggle all while nola pitching a gem

His august stats before his last at bat, he was hitting .274 and .318 OBP for the month of August. with RISP he’s hitting just .200 in August. Meaning his at bats with no runners in scoring position he had been hitting .298 in August (closer to .290 after his last at bat).

his biggest issue is he can’t Fing hit with runners in scoring position. Which means he shouldn’t be anywhere in the middle of the lineup

He swings at a ball wayy outside the zone then watches a perfect strike down the middle of the plate. He's a terrible hitter.

His at bats with RISP are worse. He gets up there and really just begins hacking away at every pitch. In that at bat he only swung at one bad pitch then was able to get a pitch in the zone to handle. It’s why he’s 15-50 (.300) this month in ABs without RISP. His approach with RISP has been awful all year.

That’s what we needed from Nola go 7 strong. Great outing

Curious to see what he looks like in his next start vs. the brewers. Big task as that’s a playoff team we might see down the road.

if they could get this type of wheeler and nola in the playoffs watch out

They won't from Nola.

His next start against the brewers is going to be telling with what we are likely getting going forward. He’s had starts like this and then the very next start he’s not good again. He’s gonna be on the road against a good playoff caliber baseball team in the brewers. If he’s able to do this again then maybe just maybe he’s figured his crap out. Unfortunately i tend to think he’s gonna struggle

Wow, it's almost like Harper is good or something.

Is that for this season only? How is JT higher than Castellanos? Suprising

For this year only. Bohm has a worse WAR than Cave. Schwarber still has a negative WAR. Realmuto is higher cause he plays catcher. definition of and how WAR works

WAR measures a player's value in all facets of the game by deciphering how many more wins he's worth than a replacement-level player at his same position (e.g., a Minor League replacement or a readily available fill-in free agent).

For example, if a shortstop and a first baseman offer the same overall production (on offense, defense and the basepaths), the shortstop will have a better WAR because his position sees a lower level of production from replacement-level players.
