I just saw the error on Turner. What ever happened to getting your body in front of the ball? I noticed he does that backhand garbage quite frequently. Is that laziness or is that what they are taught now?

A lot of SS do it now on contact they think are DP potential. Don’t know if it’s accurate but may be the belief it makes it quicker to get the DP started

He was halfway decent last year playing against the bottom dwellers but then he got exposed against San Diego. Ever since he's been garbage.

Before the game today he had a 3.99 era with the pirates. Not great but really he has had huge blowups every 3/4 starts. Here’s his runs per each start for the pirates: 1, 4, 1,1, 6, 1,0,1 2, 8. He is basically 5th starter/spot starter in the majors.

Frankly I’d rather have kept him than traded him for Castro. Castro shouldn’t even be on a major league roster with how bad he’s been this year outside of 3 weeks in April. Also not keeping falter due to him being good, but the Phillies wanted to keep guys fresh down the stretch with a 6 man rotation. When Ranger got hurt, they were forced to continue to have to expend walker. you see he needs to likely be shut down for 3 weeks or he’s pitching through an injury with how down his velocity has been. Lorenzen really needed to see his innings cutdown. He’s way over his career high innings, it’s why he’s been as bad as falter from after his no hitter. Lorenzen’s runs per game pitched each time since the no hitter: 6,4,3,6, 4,4.

The thing is not so much falter, but the Phillies don’t have anybody in the minors who is ready as a spot starter. Where painters injury comes into play. And Abel wasn’t ready yet. So when guys like Lorenzen, Walker and even Sanchez are way over their career highs in innings pitched they had to just keep using them. besides Sanchez they haven’t looked good down the stretch. when Ranger got hurt and went on IL it made Walker have to keep starting. When ranger came back eventually they were able to piggy back Sanchez with lorenzen. Unfortunately they also need that with walker

Topper licking his chops seeing Sanchez giving up his 1st hit. He can’t wait to take him out of the game after this inning

JT and Castellanos are heating up!

Nice debut by the kid tonight. Couldn’t tell if his pops was crying or battling allergies. Way to go Kerkering

Nice debut. He could be a nice weapon for them in the playoffs. I already trust him more than Dominguez. Lol..

Kid easily should start one of the games in a beat of 5 or 7 game series

Phillies call up a pitcher named Orion in 2023. That’s my 3-year-old son’s middle name. World Series confirmed.

so, do they get to 90 wins ?

I'd like to see it. They just need to go 3-3 the rest of the way. If it wasn't for multiple bullpen breakdowns, they would probably be at minimum 92 or 93 wins with the top wild card seed already clinched.

Needing only 1 more win to clinch, it’s gonna be close. I wouldn’t pitch nola again. I’d pitch Suarez on Tuesday vs. pirates and if we win I’m basically resting him, wheeler and nola for the postseason. I’m definitely not using Alvarado and kimbrel more than 1-2 innings once we clinch just so they don’t get rusty.

Ricky bo just said he has a very funny feeling that he is gonna go walker as the 3rd starter and go ranger out of the pen
