"The back’s been a non-issue for the past four months. I felt it a little bit when I came back during the season last year. And then I’ve been on top of it pretty well." https://www.si.com/mlb/angels/news/angels-news-mike-trout-reveals-latest-update-on-his-back-injury-nc2000 He missed time this year do to a broken hamate bone in his wrist. The other injury was a calf strain 2 years ago. It's not like he has arthritic knees that keep flaring up. I think if you move him to LF and occasionally DH him, you'll be fine. Then, when Schwarber's contract expires in 2 years, you move him to be a full time DH. I’m sorry he had costovertebral dysfunction, that needs to be managed throughout the rest of his career and as he gets older may reoccur again as his body begins to wear down more and more. https://www.latimes.com/sports/angels/story/2022-07-27/mike-trout-back-pain-injury-is-caused-by-uncommon-condition from his trainer "He’s a little more upbeat today and I think he’s starting to feel like he’s getting the benefits [of the cortisone],” Frostad said, "but long term, we do have to look at this as something that he has to manage, not just through the rest of this season, but through the rest of his career.” in the article from those inside the medical field says it may not flare up every year. So it could or couldn’t. So there’s a chance it can so it’s something they have to account for and manage as he gets older. So it’s not a given it never bothers him again. It always has to be accounted for and managed properly. We don’t know how his body will hold up but i can go by his recent history saying so far it’s not been very good before he got to mid 30s So he has been hurt and missed significant time the last 3 year. You think that’s getting better as he ages and is 33 and beyond? This isn’t just trout. MOST everyday players 33+ begin to breakdown more and get injured and he’s already had that isssue. So I’m gonna have a 35 year old DH who’s been injured in 4 of 6 years they’ve played 162 games, making 35+ million and likely beginning a declining in 2 years at 35 all while having to pay him for 5 more years. Sounds like a bad strategy and risk when you could potentially give up nothing for a 26 year old all star that likely has 8-10 years left in his prime

November 4, 20232 yr As bad as Kingery was, and granted he was bad, was he really that much worse than having Rodolfo Castro out there? Castro may have been one of the worst baseball players I've seen in a long time. Anyways, what a dumb, horrible contract by a dumb, horrible, and incompetent GM. It'll be interesting to see what becomes of Scotty jet packs.

They gave up falter who’s not some big loss but the trade was useless. Either just use kingery or go out and get a legitimate RH bat on the bench
November 5, 20232 yr Not going to happen. but if they signed hader and dominguez and soto turn it around that bullpen would be filthy. Hoffman, dominguez, soto, Alvarado and hader
November 6, 20232 yr Basically, Trea Turner cost Stott the Gold Glove at 2B. His Double Play numbers drug his DRS down.

November 7, 20232 yr Giving the QO to Nola and not giving one to Hoskins was expected. It'll be interesting to see where Rhys goes. Still a chance he comes back but if there's a team out there that needs a RH power bat who can play the occasional 1st base, he's probably gone.
