April 12, 20241 yr If you guys wanna complain about someone besides Castellanos who just blows, pick on Turner. His fielding and batting has been bad. I think he will turn it around.

I think he will turn it around. Turner’s fielding we can get mad at but Turner is hitting .275 with an OBP of .351. He’s not close to the next guy we should pick on for hitting wise. He’s 3rd on the team in avg and 3rd in OBP. If anyone else should it’s Rojas who’s been absolutely brutal. Can make the case before last night Stott who was at .200 prior to the cardinals series. schwarber hitting .213 and his OBP is below .300 but really he always hits around .200-220 but usually his OBP is higher than .293. For a leadoff hitter a below .300 OBP is bad. Comparatively he was at .343 last year. Also his slugging is at .327. Which is way below his last two years at .504 and .474. It’s somewhat concerning cause he’s declined every year in slugging since 2021. Just right now it’s dramatic but also early and we haven’t hit June schwarber love Bryce but he definitely is off to a slow start. He’s hitting .196 and .288 OBP. Add into it without that 3 homer game he’d be .143 with a .250 OBP and 1 RBI and 0 homers. He’s obviously going to be fine, but he’s clearly in a slump. Part of me believes it’s his back is bothering him. And another believes teams rather force guys behind him to beat them so he’s not getting great pitches to hit. Realmuto has been good so far I’m curious if he keeps it up and he sees more pitches he can do stuff with

April 12, 20241 yr Of course he’s pitching a gem, why wouldn’t he? The one thing Bailey does is throw strikes and almost too much that it can hurt him. You would think the Phillies would know that and take an aggressive approach and crush the ball like everyone else does but it’s a Philly thing

April 13, 20241 yr The Pirates would never do it, but I would almost intentionally walk Brandon marsh with how great he’s been so far. Concede that one run. Because Castellanos is coming up right after him. And you’re likely getting out of the inning because he is terrible. Credit to them, they went right after them and got them. He looked awful on that at bat.
