Knew it. The only thing I was wrong about was that he would try to come back after a game or two to give it a try. Nailed the 6 week part.

He played it his rookie season in 2022 and was solid. I'm sure it's gonna be Stott, Sosa, Clemens,  and Merrifield all seeing time at short and 2nd.

I'm sure that is a DD move with minimal Thomson input. I agree though, stupid as hell. But, as we see with Castellanos, these guys on these big money contracts aren't going to be benched as long as they are healthy, regardless of performance. Sucks.

Either way they have a dependable 4th starter and their thinking that it's smart to move him to the pen is going to come back to bite them at some point.
