May 12, 20241 yr Last year, it was the nationals at Zach Wheeler was bad against. And the Nats were bad. This year, the Marlins are awful and he is struggling with them.

May 12, 20241 yr I know he's not gonna have it every time but it pisses me off when he struggles against these scrub ass teams who can't hit their way out of a wet paper bag.
May 12, 20241 yr Of course, the offense says screw it, we are done scoring for the day after those 3 runs.

May 12, 20241 yr Feels like they should’ve let turnbull go another inning with strahm and Hoffman pitching yesterday. He threw 18 which is nothing for him as he’s been a starter before going to the pen. Gonna have to figure a way after Alvarado to get 6 more outs so likely gonna see Dominguez or Soto

Frankly I’m surprised the Phillies haven’t drafted a catcher relatively high knowing JT realmuto is getting older and his contract is done in 2 years and Eduardo Tait is 17 and likely not close to the mlb for another 4 years according to most projections. We probably should’ve been drafting one relatively high after we dealt o’happe or knowing we were thinking about trading him away. So that when realmuto got to the end you had him ready or hopes of one to be ready
May 12, 20241 yr wtf is Bohm swinging at in that at bat. Literally only the 3rd pitch was remotely close to a strike of the first 4. then strikeout is a ball right down the middle that he doesn’t swing at

Completely froze him. Good pitch

Good pitch He got set up cause he gave bender two quick strikes swinging at absolute garbage in the first two pitches. Both pitches were in the other batters box. At that point you got to be swinging at anything close to the zone regardless of what you were expecting.

You have him in the bullpen now and he’s capable of being an innings eater and multiple innings. He only threw 18 pitches. You probably could’ve at least gotten one more inning out of him. And it would’ve pushed Alvarado, strahm then Hoffman back to the 8th, 9th and 10th. Instead, you were going to be forced to use Soto or Dominguez if you couldn’t get it done in 9.

Yeah they could've definitely gone another inning with Turnbull. I think bottom line for today overall is Zack had a bad day.

Yeah was wheeler’s biggest issue last year. His performances against the Nats were similar to his performance today against the marlins. Frankly you score 6 vs. Miami you easily should win that game. This marlins team is awful.

Wheels lost the game. 3-0 lead should’ve been over right there
