Soto and Dominguez both arent good . Dominguez needs to be demoted to work on his stuff. Really both do but we are a month and a half in and neither have made any progress

Tie ball game

not sure why merrifield is hitting leadoff and not Stott. With 3 guys out of the lineup Stott needs more at bats not 5th in the lineup.

Lol, how the hell did the ump not call that a swing on Merrifield?

Do not question thomson, he is perfect

Wow, leaving the bases loaded like 5 times and still able to win.

Was said earlier in the broadcast the Phillies are the 3rd best team in the NL with RISP. I was dumbfounded when I heard that, must be a lot of crappy teams with RISP this year so far. Phillies were hitting .288

Seriously, that may have been the worst checked swing call I've ever seen. But, even if it was ruled a swing, it was only 2 strikes and Diaz was all over the place. He may have walked him anyways.

Hope the good Nola continues.

Leaving bases loaded again. Shocker.

Nola looking very solid so far.

3 garbage at bats

This team with runners in scoring position is an abject failure. I know they are missing some big boppers but Holy hell, just pathetic. How about trying a safety squeeze to generate something? Nah, just keep whiffing away and hope for the homerun.

Goes back to the nlcs series where they couldn’t hit with risp. In citifield it’s harder to hit homers. So you are going to have to manufacture runs and not just go for the long ball. The Phillies last year at times have really struggled to manufacture runs without the homerun. Playoffs were no different outside of a game or two. They really need to get everyone healthy but also seriously consider picking up another outfield bat that can platoon with Castellanos. so there’s not him and potentially rojas who are gonna struggle to hit. It effects the guys in front of them and behind them.

While I agree with you about Castellanos, no way does Thomson have the stones to platoon him. UNLESS it is mandated by the front office.

If we get to the deadline and it’s still like this, you can’t go into the playoffs just hoping he breaks out of it. Especially with Rojas also being a question mark. Can’t have two guys that are potentially just easy outs in the lineup. It’s why I’d go after a conforto. He can platoon with Rojas and Castellanos as he’s a lefty. He gives you the flexibility if Castellanos or Rojas is struggling.

Ho hum, another Phillies game with another runner picked off. Of course Thomson is blase about it when he's asked. Schwarber of all people shouldn't even be anymore than 5 feet off the bag.

I didn't even know Jake Diekman was still pitching.

Such a dumb job by schwarber. It’s bases loaded 1 out of he doesn’t get picked off. Add in no reason for him to ever be attempting to steal a base as he’s thrown out 99% of the time nor too far off the base with 1 out and the pitcher being wild with his command.

And if we are just being real about everything, the Phillies base running has been bad since kapler was here. It feels like every week they have at least 3-5 blunders on the bases

Yeah I guess. Not sure how that would play in the locker room though. How would NC feel about being a platoon player? Do I care or should DD care? Nope.
