Welp, good news is Phillies win 4-2.  Bad news is that their offense went stone cold after the 3rd inning. Bryce keeps getting under pitches he should be driving into the seats.

I think my biggest concern is still their offense. Because I know they’re going to add a relief pitcher at the deadline. Add on I think when you get to the playoffs, you’re also going to have Turnbull and Sanchez to be able to use as well. So your bullpen is likely gonna be pretty good going into the playoffs. Their lineup still scares me. They are still way too hot and cold. And if Castellanos and Rojas aren’t hitting, it affects the guys around them because they’re not gonna see as good of pitches because they know they can get outs behind them. I still think they gotta go out and get another outfielder who is a left-handed hitter so if they have the platoon Castellanos or Rojas in the playoffs, they can do it and have success.

Harper has too many games where he completely disappears, that is why he is no Hall of famer  in my opinion

I fear the cost of what it would take to get miller. I’m guessing you are likely giving up Aiden miller to acquire him

I would love for them to dump Castellanos on another team. He is absolutely useless both in the field and at the plate. As far as I'm concerned, he's David Bell all over again. Is there a team dumb enough to take on the remaining 2 1/2 years of that contract? Doubt it but one can hope.

If he gets to 500 homers and continues to play an excellent 1st base over the next several years, he's going to the hall of fame. Don't get me wrong, these funks he goes through are irritating as hell but as far as I'm concerned, he's the least of their problems offensively. Even when he's not hitting, he's still usually getting on base via walks. Castellanos, Rojas, and Merrifield are the biggest culprits offensively. They contribute absolutely nothing. Literal blackholes.

Time to trade him was last offseason. They didn’t want to eat money on the contract. I think if they ate half of the contract they could’ve moved him. Some team would’ve taken him on 3 years $30 mil. You wouldn’t have gotten anything back for him. But clearing $30 mil and being able to replace him with a better fielder and hitter would’ve been nice.

A bat is the bigger issue. They are the same freaking team as the last few years that is hot and stone cold.

Will we get a hit today?

Sac fly by Harper for the win!

:phil:

33-14, crazy.  Especially considering i don’t think they’ve played nearly their best baseball yet.

How have the Phillies played 6 more games than the Braves??  That just seems crazy......the Braves are going to have to play a lot of games to try and make them up.

I think we had two stretches where we played 13 games in a row

In the month of May they’ve had 5 days off already (including the ppd)

Wow. Yeah, they are gonna be making up some games. Hopefully it bites them in the ass by the end of the season, especially Chris Sale. Lol.

Decent start today.  Nola with 22 pitches vs. 44 for the Nats starter thru 2 and the Phils leading.
