May 26, 20241 yr This team has 2008, 1993 vibes. Gotta tip my hat to Dave Dombrowski. He had in mind to put together a team with swagger, and he did it. Guy is a stud GM.

Clear some money so you can spend more next year before hitting different levels of the luxury tax. With painter and Abel coming on we really don’t need Walker. Cause you have wheeler, nola, ranger, Sanchez, walker, painter and Abel. i could see an AL team like Minnesota, Texas and Tampa. Tampa makes sense if they believe they can elevate his game like they did eflin last year. If we can trade him I’m all for it. Would prefer him to be in the AL also, wouldn’t want to see a trade with Atlanta or LA. If Painter and Abel can be here at least by next year then I can see this being Walker’s last season
May 26, 20241 yr Phillies have lost 5 games in the last 30 days......by a total of 6 runs......even on nights where they don't have it, they struggle, they don't come back.....they are still one hit away and that is just amazing.

They are 18-4 in May and 3 of those 4 losses came in extra innings. Meaning they've been ahead or tied after 9 innings 21 out of 22 games in May. That's a pretty nice stretch. When Turner was injured, I was worried that they'd muck around and fall 6 or 7 games back of the Braves, but they've played 0.800 ball while missing one of their most important offensive pieces. I think that any of us would have signed up for it if we were told they'd do that while Turner was out of the lineup.

It has been really encouraging to see. Last night was the type of game they need to win if they are going to continue rolling and get over 100 wins.
May 26, 20241 yr Doesn’t look like Ranger is comfortable out there. Laboring through at bats and also the ball staying up. More fly balls than grounders. actually pull him here. All his pitches are up and he has no control. At 3-0 still have a shot. If it goes to 5-0 this is probably a loss.
May 26, 20241 yr At this point just let Ranger get to 100 pitches and then pull him. The time to take him out was when it was 3-0 and he couldn’t hit the zone and leaving every pitch up in the zone also Bohm should’ve went home after touching 3rd. He still had a chance at a double play that way.
May 26, 20241 yr Had to lose a series eventually. Shame it's against a bad team. They don't play well in that timezone.

Feels like they came into this series thinking they’d win showing up as the Rockies are bad. Their at bats besides the 9th inning of yesterday’s game have been pretty porous. Very similar type of at bats and approaches to their nlcs where they are chasing a lot of bad pitches.

Best chance is likely when we get back to the top of the lineup in the 8th or 9th. stott has been pretty brutal the last 6 games. He is 2 for his last 22.

MST/MDT doesn't seem friendly to them

May 26, 20241 yr At least Dominguez looks like he’s back to being solid. i don’t blame the pitching in this series. This was an absolutely pathetic performance for the bats. Besides the 9th inning g yesterday their approaches and bats were just flat out bad. That 9th inning had 6 runs which is the same amount of runs they had the other 28 innings of this series against arguably one of the worst teams in baseball.

Nothing much has changed since last year regardless of how they fool people at times. They need another bat.

If rumors are true and Kyle Tucker becomes available if the Astros are out of it by deadline they should go all in. He allows you to have an everyday OF that can rake and play LF/RF. The Phillies want to platoon marsh and Rojas anyways. Can also platoon Castellanos with marsh when the matchup calls for it. the issue is will he become available at the deadline and the Phillies be willing to give up a package like Crawford/aidan miller, Abel and Caba/ricconnes. I’d 100% do it for tucker.
