May 28, 20241 yr ERAs of Phillies Starters Suarez - 1.75 Wheeler - 2.53 Nola - 3.04 Sanchez - 3.15 Walker - 5.51 Walker has given up more earned runs than every starter but Nola, and Nola has pitched more than twice as many innings as Walker. F you Topper and F you Dombrowski for continuing to trot that loser out there.
May 28, 20241 yr Walker can’t get out of town faster. This guy is a problem and he admits he isn’t confident and they still put him out there

May 28, 20241 yr The sad part is that everyone knows the Phils have a better option already on the roster in Turnbull. That's what makes it so much more infuriating.

If rumors are true and Kyle Tucker becomes available if the Astros are out of it by deadline they should go all in. He allows you to have an everyday OF that can rake and play LF/RF. The Phillies want to platoon marsh and Rojas anyways. Can also platoon Castellanos with marsh when the matchup calls for it. the issue is will he become available at the deadline and the Phillies be willing to give up a package like Crawford/aidan miller, Abel and Caba/ricconnes. I’d 100% do it for tucker. What are your thoughts about …

May 28, 20241 yr Moving Turnbull to the pen was definitely the right move - there's no way he would have made it to the ASG. The guy hasn't pitched more than 57 innings since 2019 and he is already at 40.1 innings. We all saw what happened to Michael Lorenzen last year down the stretch - the wheels fell off, and he had a history of more innings pitched and less of an injury history than Turnbull. I think he's more important to this team as a long man and that had more to do with moving him to the pen than Walker's contract. If there's a move to be made, they'll make it - they have proven that. I wouldn't be surprised if we flipped Walker in a secondary deal at the deadline for a low level prospect after we acquire someone for the rotation.

I disagree because I don’t know how much I’m gonna get from Turnbull even putting him in the bullpen. And you’ve seen he’s not as good out of the bullpen. So I’m gonna use him being fantastic for as much he gives me before the wheels fall off and.or gets hurts. no timetable of how much you’re gonna get out of him. And he’s not gonna be back next year if he wind up being really good or if he gets hurt. It sounds bad, but I’m running him into the ground for as long as I can because there’s a ticking time bomb on that guy that he’s going to get hurt. you’re not maximizing him as a bullpen guy cause he’s shown you he’s not been as consistent. So I might as well get as much as I can out of him as a starter rather than hope for him to stay healthy all year and at the end. Frankly we trade for a BP arm at the deadline he’s likely not being used very much at the end of the year or playoffs anyway

They might trade them. But just need the Astros to not be in contention at the deadline. Or far enough out if they don’t think they’re gonna make it. That’s why I think it’s a realistic possibility if the Astros aren’t within striking distance of a postseason birth that you could see the Phillies go all in on him. He’s worth going all in on.
May 29, 20241 yr It’s great the entire team has forgotten how to Fing hit a baseball. jt on 3-2 sits there at a pitch down the middle of the strike zone. Like you have to be aggressive in that situation even if it’s not what you were expecting. That pitch should’ve been crushed part of the reason why the Phillies have such struggles in San Francisco, is because it’s not a homer hitters Park. You have to play small ball. Singles doubles and bringing guys home that way. The Phillies struggle a lot of the times when there to do that.
May 29, 20241 yr Pretty sure we are getting shutout in this game tonight with how our at bats look realmuto with a boneheaded base running decision. No reason with no outs to go on a grounder to the left side of the infield. Especially when the shortstop had no chance to get Harper at first and his only play was to 3rd

That was as pathetic of a hitting performance as they’ve had the last 2 years.

When they lost Hoskins last year, they never made up for it. And you could see it in their lineup at points in the season. It really showed in the dbacks series. They go into too Many stretches where they are just awful with RISP and rely way too much on HRs. Like i said back in April they also could use a legitimate cleanup hitter. Bohm has filled that role so far but i don’t think he’s best suited for it. And if Castellanos sucks and Rojas isn’t ready yet, then your lineup is very dependent on your other 7 guys to not slump. If 1-2 other guys do then you have half a lineup. It’s why i was against just running it back and assuming Castellanos and Rojas would be good enough
