June 2, 20241 yr Bohms should be at first, harper in RF, castellanos on a bus out of town and sign a 3rd baseman
June 2, 20241 yr Sosa looked like a little leaguer at the plate tonight. Holy hell, swinging at everything away. Looked like NC.

That’s twice in like a week’s time where he had a ball like that also turnbull finally looked good out of the pen. If Ranger is out for a period of time then you at least can throw him back into the rotation.
June 2, 20241 yr Calling it a contusion. Hopefully not broken. I am guessing put him on 10 IL. He’ll miss two starts as long as it’s not broken.
June 2, 20241 yr BRYCE 🤟 he’s having an MVP-esque season so far. Amazing he’s behind Ohtani and betts in the odds. Then again both of those guys having ridiculous seasons too. Betts .326/.419/.937 8HRs and 31 RBI. Ohtani .326/.393/1.000 14 HRs and 38 RBI
June 2, 20241 yr That looked like a very solid inning for Seranthony based on Gamecast. Was it as good as it appeared to be?.

Frankly, I think the off-season plan is to go hard after Juan Soto. That’s kind of always been the off-season in 2025 and rumored big fish the Phillies were after. they’ve been tied to him. And his agent is Boris so he’s definitely going into FA. Added bonus the Yankees coming out earlier this month and saying they would reduce payroll next year tells me they kind of have a sense that Soto is going to test out free agency. makes sense the Phillies are gonna go all in on him. Because you got to remember he’s gonna play outfield in 2025 but Kyle Schwarber is a free agent at the end of 2025. So I get the feeling that Soto is going to be your DH by 2026. That said that gets thrown out the window if someone like Kyle Tucker becomes available and the Phillies trade for him. if the Phillies get to the deadline and they don’t make a Tucker move and they just make a trade for like Conforto (who’s on a expiring type kind of contract) then I think it’s all hands on deck to go get Soto.

June 2, 20241 yr Team ERA is now 3.02. 4 more shutout innings brings them down to 3.00. With that said, having Walker pitching isn’t ideal for that happening.

The issue with Dominguez is usually about his control. When he doesn’t have it he tends to walk a lot of guys and get himself into trouble falling behind in counts to where he’s forced to throw over the heart of the plate. He had it today
June 2, 20241 yr Some good news on Suárez. I’m guessing if he misses his next start they might retroactively put him on 10 day IL. With the trip to London he might only miss a start if they do that

For me the Soto and Tucker situations are independent of one another. If they were able to trade for Tucker (at a reasonable price) then going into the offseason with both of them possible signings is not a bad situation to be in. Only one of the two would be signed, but having both as possibilities would be good

You’re gonna give up two of those three if you’re getting Kyle Tucker. Because he’s that good of a player. And he still has a year left on that contract. The reason why the Astros would do it now instead of next off-season or next year’s trade deadline is because you’re gonna get two shots with him at the postseason so it’s gonna maximize the value that he has left. If you’re giving up that type of prospects, i don’t see the Phillies just letting him walk away. The Phillies aren’t going to spend the money in Soto and Tucker. Especially when Stott, Bohm and Ranger have contracts coming up and really only schwarber and Castellanos coming off the books and needing to find JT’s replacement likely in FA sometime between next year and the start of 2027. as much as it would be awesome for them to go get Juan Soto and Kyle Tucker, I don’t see them doing both. It’s going to be either or. Part of me thinks they rather just wait to get Soto with how good they are. they don’t have to give up anything in their system to get him. they’re gonna give up draft picks because I’m guessing the Yankees will tender him. If you go after Tucker and Soto you are giving up prospects and picks that could replace those prospects and going into a ridiculous luxury tax. I don’t see them going after both and Tucker isn’t coming cheap from Houston
