He’s under contract for 2025 as he has another year of arbitration. They avoided arbitration this year signing the 1 year contract to avoid going to arbitration. But it didn’t erase his 2025 arbitration year. So he is still under Astros control for 2025 cause he has a year left of arbitration. He’s not a free agent til 2026. So you are getting him for rest of 2024 and 2025. It’s why when I explained to you that you’re getting him for a year and a half. And why the Astros if they do it now are maximizing whatever value they have left out of him because you’re getting him not just for 2024 but for 2025. The Padres traded Juan Soto with one year left on this contract. The Yankees had to give up one of their better pitching prospects to get him (not their best). And then 2 young major league/prospects. And really the Padres had to settle for that because they had financial obligations issues where they had to take out loans to pay their payroll. So they were at a disadvantage when trying to make that trade because teams knew they had to get off Juan Soto, cause they couldn’t afford him. So if you’re trading with the Astros and you’re getting 1.5 years of service from Kyle Tucker, you’re definitely giving up one of your better prospects (Abel, miller or Crawford) and you’re likely gonna have to give up a second because you’re getting another half season from him. Add on the Astros don’t have to trade him at this deadline they could wait til the offseason. Also likely 3-4 teams going after him if made available that could increase the price.

June 2, 20241 yr Why the hell did we waste a challenge on a ball that was obviously a HR? again Walker sucks.

June 2, 20241 yr I’d say bunt with Merrifield to move the runners to 2nd and 3rd but Stubbs and Rojas are up next damn Stubbs crushed that. Should’ve had Merrifield bunt them over. It’s 2-2 if they did
June 3, 20241 yr JFC walker. Like all his pitches are nibbling the plate and then he throws meatballs that get tattooed. This dude has no business starting. Only reason he’s starting is cause they won’t just Fing admit his $18 mil per year contract is a bad contract. he isn’t worth a roster spot.
June 3, 20241 yr Team is stupid and stubborn and refuses to make adjustments sometimes. The fact Walker is starting shows they'd rather go down with the ship than admit a mistake like EAGLE mentioned.
June 3, 20241 yr Just saying if the Phillies kept Bailey falter and not traded him for garbage Castro, he’s even a better option than Walker. Currently this year falter has a 3.22 era, 0.95 WHIP in 64 innings in 11 starts for the pirates.

June 3, 20241 yr This may be an unpopular opinion but I just want to enjoy a baseball game, I am tired of the constant commercials for pills and and the ALS and cancer stuff during the games, then interview people that are sick. I just wan to enjoy a game. I also don't want to hear from the players during the game or the manager, and walker still blows

June 3, 20241 yr The media needs to start asking topper hard questions about why Walker is still in the rotation with barely a sub 6 ERA - tired of this crap
June 3, 20241 yr Kerkering has been real nice so far this year. Not a lot of mention about him but he’s been very good
