He was horrible today

We are not winning this game. We don’t have the guys on offense right now to win scoring nine or more runs. Turnbull has been bad 5 out of his last 6 times out of the pen. I don’t think he’s a reliever. He’s a starter. He’s always been. I think hard asking him to do that this year and during the season make the transition.

Probably both him and who was catching. But he was terrible from the very first batter he faced

Maybe. I think with Sanchez he was never expected to be a top end of the rotation guy. He was expected to be a four or fifth starter with the potential to be a good 3 if he hit completely. I think he’s gonna have some coming back closer to the mean with him. I don’t see him having an ERA under 3 all year. He’s likely 3.50-4.00. And pitching closer to a 3-4 type starter.

I don't think he is that good period, he just had a good stretch

Marchan sucks, they need to draft a quality catcher soon

They need to get a catcher now before this turns out really ugly by August. The team is crap with Stubbs and Marchan

Stubb is not that bad for a month, but marchan is useless, in other words he can play outfield for this team

That might be a possibility too. But that means if that’s the case, you should’ve rode him until he completely fell off as a starter. Using Walker hurt you and not riding it out also hurt you

We’re about to find out, there’s no offense for those guys so that makes the bottom of our lineup real slim. We’re gonna have to rely on pitching a lot more to win games now because offense is gonna dip for a while

True bit overall it is the 5th starter so not that big a deal, walker has been what you can expect from a 5th guy really

This team has average young talent, Bohm, stott and Marsh are around 260 hitters, rojas is barely a major leaguer, no catcher....sorry feeling very negative tonight

I said this after they traded o’happe knowing how many innings realmuto had played and he was going to begin to breakdown. They should’ve had it in consideration in that draft prior to that trade if they were thinking about trading o’happe

My issue was more and i said at the time dont just assume because you put Turnbull in the bullpen he going to be good or that transition is just gonna go well. It’s not as easy as people think. it’s showing you that it is not. I said he’s on a one-year contract you don’t know how much is left in that arm or if he’s gonna stay healthy or whatever. Ride him until he runs out of gas. Trying to conserve him and hoping he could transition when he’s never done it and all offseason he wasn’t working towards that was going to be harder than they thought

I saw that too, he didn’t square up to the ball to block it with his body, instead he tried to lean in to it and had no chance. Maybe it’s first game jitters and he needs to settle in with more playing time. I’m not gonna judge him after one game too harshly but I’m not impressed either 

Bohm hitting .228 since May 1. I still don’t think he’s a cleanup hitter.

Bohm came back down to earth, dude is a double play machine lately. His defense has been nice for the most part

That orioles series is going to be a tough matchup. I’d argue we actually face the 3 best pitchers in their rotation (i know Cole Irvin has a lower era than Rodriguez but i don’t think his stuff is as good). Got Suarez vs. Bradish, walker vs. Rodriguez and wheeler vs burnes. Burnes was scheduled for Saturday but they pushed him back to Sunday which is probably better for us as Walker vs. burnes really favored orioles. Unfortunately with Turner, marsh and realmuto out, it’s really a bad time to face those 3 pitchers and then tonight facing houck for Boston who’s been great. Given up 5 runs in his last 5 starts (32.2 IP)

2-4 wouldn't be a disaster but we can win with Suarez and then scrape out one of the others and make it 3-3.  A win tonight would go a long way to making that happen.
