2-4 wouldn't be a disaster but we can win with Suarez and then scrape out one of the others and make it 3-3.  A win tonight would go a long way to making that happen.

I think the issue that we are going to see with realmuto, Turner and marsh all out is our staff has to be basically be close to perfect cause we don’t have the hitting to make up for it. Getting 6 runs last night should be enough. So if we are going to win they have to not commit errors, pitching to be what it has up to this point and figure a way to score enough runs which really means guys like schwarber, harper, casty, stott and bohm have to step up.

longview things, I think they’re pitching is going to take a little bit of a step back. Because I don’t think they’re gonna pitch this well the entire year cause frankly it’s been pretty ridiculous. Frankly, I think that July and August schedule is going to get them a little bit. Their July and beginning of August schedule is really tough. But I do think their pitching is good enough to win the World Series.

Imo the biggest concern i have is with their offense. I get where they rank and have guys injured, but the end of last years NLCS still is an issue to me. Even if Turner is better this year, i still think they are a bat short. I felt that way going into the playoffs last year, this offseason and even now. Like they lost Rhys in spring training last year and really never replaced him. Turner was added to be in a lineup with Hoskins to make the depth of the lineup even better. They have yet to actually do it. It’s why I’d like for them to make a significant trade for an outfielder. However i just see them doing it cause i don’t see tucker becoming available and Roberts isn’t worth a Soto type package.

If they can play .500 over the next six weeks they will be fine.  I think they can do that if the pitching remains a strength and it doesn't have to be where it has been so far.  Yes, they will lose some when the pen can't hold a lead but if the top 3 pitch 80% as well as they have done so far they can win half the games up thru the end of July.  Some nights they will fail to score but they still have some bats and Turner is back very soon which will help particularly if they can rotate Sosa around in different spots in the field.

My issue was less about the regular season. I think they’re going to be fine in the regular season. To me it’s about the playoffs. When you have detailed scouting reports and that’s the only team you’re focused on because if you don’t beat them your season over. That’s what happened with the Diamondbacks last year. Their scouting reports told them that the Phillies have a high chase rate. I know the chase rate is better this year, but I dont trust in the playoffs that they won’t revert back to it when they begin pressing.

The Dodgers have a good enough rotation to exploit that if you’re gonna revert back/begin to press. To me, they still need another bat healthy or not to help with the consistency of this lineup. I said it during the playoff last year,  if they stop hitting home runs, they’re gonna be in a lot of trouble because they weren’t hitting well with RISP.  they get into the stretches where they can’t hit with runners in scoring position. Believe last postseason they hit .230 with RISP. And the last five games of that diamondback series they hit around 160 with Risp.  I stated it multiple times last year and even this offseason, they need to actually find a bat to replace Rhys hoskins. You don’t lose a 25-30 homer and 80-90 RBI guy, who hit .292 with RISP in 2022 and makes pitchers really work and not have an it effect your lineup. I don’t believe they have replaced that in the lineup. Their lineup in 2023 was supposed to have Turner and Hoskins and Harper would’ve played OF, DH and some 1b. Instead then and now basically got harper, rojas and Turner. No offense it’s a massive downgrade in the hitting department to go from hoskins to rojas. Even for all of Hoskins flaws

I'm not worried about the playoffs yet.  Let's get into the 2nd half of August and still leading the division by 7 or 8 games and then we can talk playoffs.

The reason why it bring it up right now, is the National League I would argue with the weakest it’s been over the last couple years. I thought it was gonna be better. But when you look at it, the Brewers are the third best team and I don’t even think their team is as good this year as it was last year. The Braves have lost two of their best players and really leaking oil.

The team that you’re really competing with is the Dodgers. So I say to myself are we good enough to beat the Dodgers in a seven game series? Not sure they are. The Dodgers pitching has been nearly as good as the Phillies. Frankly those 3 mvp type guys in freeman, betts and ohtani in the lineup surrounded by Hernandez having a good year, muncy is ridiculously good. And I’m guessing they’ll add at the deadline. IMO this isn’t the year to make a minimal upgrade. It’s the year to go all in cause this might be your best shot.

I agree with this 100%

Honestly the Phillies really need some big movements in the standings to make that happen. In the AL only 4 teams are outside of 4 games in the race for the last WC spot. In the NL it’s 2. Imo we really should be rooting against teams like Tampa, Astros, blue jays to just fall out of contention so the market is better.  Particularly the Astros. More reason for them to deal Tucker if they believe they are out of it.

That’s not good

Nola looking shaky tonight.

This feels like it’s going to be a really long night. Nola looks like he might not get to the 5th and our lineup is awful.

Yup this feels like it’s gonna be an ass kicking

It is going to be a rough few days

i wont be shocked if a major collapse is coming, they had it too easy with schedule the last few months but eventually it's going to catch up to them because they just arent good, you have to beat quality opponents too that's why im saying wait until we play quality teams and see we are a contender, if you cant beat them then you are not a world series contender. the flaws on this team are there and are beating masked by the record that doesnt mean squad.

for some reason the media has completely hid under the rock over the record rather than looking at the flaws on this roster which was clearly there from beginning and got masked because they were playing crap teams.

Well it was short lived as nola gives 4 runs right back… thanks nola!

Idk wtf Thomson is doing. When Boston made it 5-3 nola should’ve been pulled cause you still had a shot and he didn’t look good all night

Set up to get hammered in Baltimore thanks to a dreadful offense with guys out

That's who Nola is. You can't count on the guy to not crap the bed. I keep saying it, but this team is the same one from last year, from the manager who is an idiot to players who get cold to Nola, who pitches great and then turns into the guy from game 6.

He is not a good situational manager.

Honestly the game they should’ve won this series was last night. You score 6 then you should beat a team. This offense with multiple guys out is gonna struggle to get a lot of runs so if you get six you have to win. Frankly i think they lose 2 of 3 in Baltimore.

4th of July hat is 🔥
