Particularly the 6th cause he’s only gotten past that 1 time.

June 15, 20241 yr Stubbs is super fortunate not to be picked off on that. I swear we have to be one of the worst base running teams in mlb and it’s been an issue dating back to kapler era Rojas swinging at a pitch that nearly hit his hands on the swing.

June 15, 20241 yr Ruiz’s only pitch in the strike zone was the last one which was a mistake where Stubbs had his glove set up. But blew it right by mountcastle

Don’t know how you watched the bottom of the 7th and thought to send him back out there. He struck out the batter only cause the batter was moronic. None of the first 3 pitches were close to the plate. He was fortunate the hitter was aggressive and swung at two bad pitches. Then he was lucky he didn’t his last pitch sent over the wall as it was right down broadway. Add on Thomson knows this kid isn’t a high leverage guy. So throwing him out there against second best team in the AL is a bad decision.

He will not bring them a WS championship. They should have fired his ass last year because winning in the regular season or because the bats get hot the first few rounds doesn't mean crap. In tight games, against good teams, he will screw things up. Again, just like game 4, when everyone other than Thomson knew not to put the kid or the idiot in, he did just that and literally cost them a trip to the WS. That's who he is.

I agree with some of this. I do think he has a bad habit of being hard headed with some of his moves like kimbrel last year during that series. Or being stubborn with guys in the lineup and not changing it (playoffs). He also at times just makes poor decisions late in tight games however two things, going extras and not having a day off since Monday i think we were limited to who we had available. That said with wheeler tomorrow we are likely not using a ton of our pen. Second thing we have to be leading the majors in extra inning games. We seem to always be playing close games. With Turner, marsh and now realmuto out it feels like the offense since that Rockies trip hasn’t been as good. We need to get some games where we can blow out teams and not always have to use are big guns in the bullpen. also wouldn’t be surprised if we are throwing some guys into high leverage situations to see who we can trust.
June 16, 20241 yr If Wheeler can outduel Burnes today the trip will have been a success. They can come back home, get Turner back, and start to get things moving forward again.
June 16, 20241 yr Nothing like batting Castellanos second in the lineup when he’s 3 for his last 23 and 1 for his last 15.

Bohm isn’t a cleanup hitter. They basically play him as that cause Castellanos blows and they want to keep schwarber at the top of the lineup.
June 16, 20241 yr Guys are hurt right now, but the biggest difference between the Phillies and the Orioles the last two games is the Orioles make you work every single at bat to get an out. The Phillies giveaway outs because they swing it crap and they don’t always make you work. This is the the type of at bats that got them eliminated by the dbacks. Even if you get Turner and realmuto back it’s an issue cause everyone was healthy when the Phillies couldn’t hit with RISP most of the postseason and just relied on HRs. It’s why when I said during the off-season, you should go out and get at bats and trade Castellanos to keep rhys. at least Hoskins gives you quality at bats and grinds at bats. Cause the Phillies do not have enough of those type of hitters in their lineup. They begin to slump then just revert back to swinging away at crap and have a high chase rate also if the Phillies don’t come back today are 10-10 in their last 20 games
