He can hit lefty and righty. He has a lot of power. The issue is he’s not a very good fielder. He’s an upgraded fielder from Schwarber, but he’s practically where you’re going to be with Nick Castellanos. Actually, I think he probably is a little worse than Castellanos. So you better have a really good centerfielder. i believe has 3 years left of control. might ultimately become your DH when schwarber is gone
July 11, 20241 yr Rooker just goes up to the plate and tees off for the fences. Actually hits better than league average with two strikes. So far pitchers have been pitching around him and putting him on base. Doesn't give you anything defensively. We'd have him locked in for three years if we get him, so I figure Oakland asks for a haul.
July 11, 20241 yr No way nola is getting through six today if he continues this way. 1 out in the second he’s at 35 pitches this is gonna be a short outing for Nola. He's trying to nibble the corners and when he leaves it in the zone it is being hit

July 11, 20241 yr No clue wtf Roberts is doing. Marsh can’t hit lefties so he removed his LHP to bring in a RHP. But I’ll take it cause marsh actually is good against RHP annnnnd he goes yard
July 11, 20241 yr I noticed they put the Phillies patch back on the sleeve for the powder blues. Does anyone know the story behind this? I thought they were gonna replace it with an ad or something

It’s the same reason they got rid of the numbers on the sleeves for the home and away jerseys too or so I thought. Which is why I’m wondering if the numbers are coming back too
July 11, 20241 yr Not mentioned enough is Randy Arozerena. He was awful the first two months but since June 1st he has been really good. His slashes are .284/.406/.856. Depending on the price I’d still be interested. He’s had success in the postseason before. And i do think protected by our lineup and in CBP he could rake. Add on he has two more years of arbitration

Which is why I’m wondering if the numbers are coming back too I’d be willing to bet it’s less about the advertisement issue and more that Nike made a decision to get rid of it. That feels like more of a Nike thing. Because if you look back when they were celebrating like the 150th anniversary of mlb, they had that on one side and the numbers on the other sleeve. So you can still do advertisements on one sleeve and not the other. This feels very much like a Nike thing. Cool fact that the Phillies were the only team left as of 2022 that had the number on their sleeve. And they got rid of it in 2023.

July 11, 20241 yr Bryce just missed that. but feels like his at bats since he’s come back he’s trying to do too much and swinging at a lot of neg pitches. Why he seemingly is always behind in the count.
July 11, 20241 yr Been awful this year but maybe change of scenery he starts hitting and winds up being better than pache
