These picks are awarded to the bottom 10 teams in revenue and there are 2 sets, one after the First Round and the other after the Second. As far as trading recently drafted players, the earliest they can be traded is after the World Series the year they were drafted. It used to be an entire year. You can name them as a Player to be Named Later. Ironically, the first player to be traded like this and prompted the rule change was Trea Turner in 2015 https://www.mlb.com/news/trea-turner-nationals-padres-trade-revisited Good info. Thanks. I was interested in Butns because the scouting reports indicate that for his drafting team he could actually be a valuable bullpen asset this season. His long term trajectory is as a starter, but the report definitely felt he will have this season value as a reliever
July 14, 20241 yr the Phillies continue to pitch to rooker when he’s about the only A’s player really doing serious damage in this series is a choice.

However, the Phillies with first base open should never be pitching to rooker because he’s absolutely destroying them. He is 6-11 for the series with two home runs. Make one of the other 8 Oakland A’s beat you as majority aren’t good
July 14, 20241 yr Phillies score 11 runs yesterday and so far looking like they couldn’t hit a ball off a t ball stand today.

That’s if the rest of the pen holds up. Imo Was always going to be a game where they needed to score 7-8. Feels much like game 1 where guys aren’t locked in on a team they should be beating up on
July 14, 20241 yr Again, why the F are you pitching to the one guy on their team that’s consistently good. I don’t even care if it’s runners at first and second no outs. The rest of that team isn’t good enough as a unit to worry about them. The one guy that could do damage is the guy you keep pitching too that keeps doing damage
July 14, 20241 yr 8-8 13-3 (21-11) 13-3 (34-14) 11-5 (45-19) 8-8 (53-27) 9-7 (62-34) Losing 2 of 3 to the garbage A's at home was pretty lame.

Going to be 25-20 since May 24 when they played the Rockies. They really haven’t played as well as they did prior. They have also lost series to Rockies, giants, and As (3-6). And split a series with the marlins. As great as the dodgers series was, the dodgers also didn’t pitch Yamamoto, glasnow or kershaw. Add on down betts and muncy. I’d add their series win vs. the dbacks they didn’t get gallen and at some point Kelley is coming back. With the Padres they also missed Dylan cease. I get the Phillies have had some injuries. So I can respect the fact, Harper and Schwarber were out. But their games like the Rockies series they had no business losing. And this series they should’ve teed off on Oakland starting pitching the entire series. Oakland is terrible. Frankly it comes down to I think they overlooked Oakland to get to the All-Star break and they thought they were just gonna steamroll this team and be fine. And now you find yourself losing two of three because you didn’t have the same attitude that you did for the dodgers
July 14, 20241 yr We can paint the picture as negative as we want but let's not forget the injuries that piled up and the fact that we've held/grown the gap vs. the Braves and all the other top teams in the league during that period. In any case, the A's have four absolute bombs today. Edit: ...and add one cheapy while I'm typing.
July 14, 20241 yr Why are we bringing in Matt strahm now? You’re down six runs. Just use Ruiz and let him just go into his arm falls off because you’re not winning this game anyways. No reason to bring in guys when there’s no point and risk injury and adding more innings onto them.
