Marsh has been particularly brutal in July outside of the dodgers series.

vs. Dodgers: 5-10 3 RBI 2 HRs

vs. Everyone else: 2-25 0 RBI 1 XBH 13Ks

Sad

Yeah, it’s a problem.  the reason they need 2 outfielders is because they were supposed to "fix” him so He could be an every day player when they made that trade. But now in year five of his major league career, he can’t hit left-handers still and he’s a platoon player. So have both Rojas and marsh that need to be platooned.

Can blame some on injuries but really Phillies have been mediocre since going out to Colorado.

Since May 24 (Rockies series): 25-22

Since London series (June 8): 18-17

Since July 4: 6-6

have best record in MLB but they haven’t played like it since mid May, 2 months ago

Phillies can thank the Braves for being as mediocre for maintaining the 7.5 game lead

since May 24: 25-25

since July 4: 7-6

This team has too many holes to win the WS. Refrain from trading young talent trying to fix it like RA did after 2008. They need two outfielders, pen help, and Stott sucks. Too much to fix on top of NC going cold at the wrong times each postseason.

To be honest, looking around the National League everybody has holes. The Dodgers have health issues but after their first 6 the lineup is worse than the Phillies. Their bullpen is ok. Their starters are good if healthy which glasnow never stays healthy. Yamamoto might not be back til September if he comes back. The Braves have outfield issues. They also have some bullpen issues. The Brewers aren’t that good. To be perfectly honest the team playing the best right now might be the diamondbacks. They are getting on a roll and they haven’t gotten Kelly or Rodriguez back which will happen soon. The pirates, cardinals and padres have issues. Really the National League is there for the taking if the Phillies can get back to what they were April and May and add onto the roster.

that said the biggest issue here is that the Phillies didn’t do anything all off-season except add Merrifield and bring everybody else back.  Even before they lost to the diamondbacks how many times and we complain that they stranded too many guys with runners in scoring position when it was a high leverage situation? A lot. It’s why we kept saying they missed rhys. How many times did we say they needed to add a bullpen arm because as bad as kimbrel was in the postseason he was actually good for like 4.5 months of the season. You never really replaced that. Some guys got better like Hoffman, Bohm and strahm and some have regressed like Alvarado and Stott. Some still haven’t made the jumps they envisioned like Rojas and marsh

this goes way back why dave was let go with the red sox, i mean he got lucky with his one world series win but his decision making in general made no sense and he killed the red sox.

everything is about we cant do this, we cant that when it comes to getting rid of prospects for proven talent, like this is window to win now, like dave has to make moves if this team makes it to the world series, if he does nothing, either we get knocked out of the playoffs early or may not make the playoffs.

And they can destroy the minors like Rube and get nothing else

Tbh Arozerena makes a ton of sense. He’s a RH bat. Can be an everyday OF. He’s got 2 more controllable years after this year. After an awful start he’s been really good since June 1: .293 AVG/.399 OBP/.910 OPS.

According to Kevin cooney he’s heard Crawford and painter are untouchable. Their top target is a closer. Meaning possibly miller is dealt if it means getting a top tier closer

Feels like a game we should have way more than 2 runs and it’ll eventually come back to bite us in the ass.

Thank you Cruz for helping us out

Alvarado is warming up 😬

Why did Pache swing at 3-0? Who does he think he is?

Hopefully this helps rebuild his confidence.

Castellanos going yard today is on point. Anytime some big event happens he goes yard

That’s a real nice bounce back win
