Cause I don’t think you’re gonna make it through the playoffs having marsh not be able to hit left-handers, Rojas who is not a great hitter who really struggled in the playoffs last year and has not exactly set the world on fire this year hitting. And then pache is going to be your fourth outfielder or Weston Wilson is gonna be your fourth outfielder? To me that’s not good enough to get you through the playoffs. You’re gonna run into a team and that is going to potentially cost you. They need both.

July 23, 20241 yr Two issues Ranger still has is he is leaving pitches up in the zone. fortunate some of these balls weren’t hit harder that were up. Second he can’t get enough swinging misses to strike guys out. For instance, the walk he had this inning. He’s ahead in the count and can’t find a way to get strike three and walked the guy.

I don't feel to good about ranger for the rest of the season. He looks cooked already

He doesn’t have overpowering stuff but if he can’t locate at an high level and get guys to chase he’s going to have issues. that said the offense has been brutally bad since the first inning.

Well judging by the twins pitcher and how he gets better as the game goes, this might be all the Phillies score tonight.

July 23, 20241 yr Need help with a quote…heard this many years ago and I recall it being attributed to Roy Halladay. Always loved its application to baseball and, more broadly, life itself. It was along the lines of…every year, you’ll have 5 starts where your stuff is unhittable and everything works, 5 starts where nothing works and they hammer everything you’ve got…but it’s how you battle the rest of the time in your other starts when you don’t have your A or your D game that determines what kind of pitcher you are.

If they come out of this inning tied or ahead I’d be surprised. there it is. Like I said, before, not hitting his zones and leaving pitches in places he cannot afford to leave it up in the zone. Which plays into guys aren’t swinging at things down cause they know he’ll leave one up.

But ranger Suarez is not a flyball pitcher. And if he’s gonna leave it up in the zone, guys are just gonna wait until he does that and hit that instead of chasing his pitches that are low. This is been a problem now for like a month. There’s a good chance he’s tired and he needs more time off. This feels like a fatigue issue. We forget last year he missed the first month and a half of the season. The year before he missed two weeks in June/July and had one start in like 28 days. So he got a bunch of rest. He’s on pace to have a career high in innings and not a career high but shattering it
July 23, 20241 yr Every other game since the start of the A’s series has been like this 2 runs 11 runs 3 runs 7 runs 1 run 6 runs 2 runs
