July 26, 20241 yr The Phillies were told they could be anything at 37-14… they became the eagles 0-5 with RISP. Also realmuto is hitting less than .165 with RISP

July 27, 20241 yr At least Stott is getting going. Too bad the rest of the team can’t hit worth crap. 0-6 with RISP
July 27, 20241 yr Phillies have struggled as much as they have over the last month due to RISP & BP. Since Tigers series, the Phillies are hitting .222 (44-198) with RISP. In July they are hitting .240 (31-129). Take the dodgers series out of the July numbers it’s .214 (22-103). since the dodgers series .230 (15-65) and 4 hitless games (10 total games) with RISP also realmuto hit .205 with RISP in 2023. He’s been worse this year as he’s hitting .170. Yet batting in the 5 hole.
July 27, 20241 yr Unl the PTBNL is a high profile pick from this year's draft, they traded two Low A guys for him who aren't in their top 20 prospects....
July 27, 20241 yr Interesting/weird trade. I think this all they were willing to do in the OF. This cements their platoon with Marsh. Pache wasn’t going to do much for them. And this confirms that they have lost all confidence in Seranthony…and they did not intend to use him in the playoffs. So they traded 2 guys they didn’t plan to use in October for their final plan in the OF. It’s a final plan that won’t get anyone excited…but it’s going to be Marsh/Hays in LF. I don’t see how they’d bother doing this if they had any intention of adding another bat. But they will add a reliever now. And reliever rentals, even elite ones, generally come cheap at the deadline. So they chose to creatively do the best they could without giving up any prospects of any value. I don’t think our prospects are worth enough to not try to make a bigger impact than that in the interest of keeping them. Oh well, we’ll see how it plays out.

I’m reading Hays full time left field and Marsh/Rojas platoon in center.

It was easily able to match and probably beat for him. Dombrowski has done a lot of good things for the Phillies. But I would say his deadline last year was an overlooked reason that cost them a World Series. Obviously kimbrel and chase rate and poor risp cost them too. But the fact that he went into the deadline, knowing that that team struggles for stretches with runners in scoring position and missed Hoskins bat, and then decided that Rudolfo Castro was going to be enough was a huge mistake. Because frankly, I think they probably beat the diamondbacks in five games and never even gets to a game six or seven if they made the splash. Frankly i think they would’ve beaten the rangers.
