They use Rojas to get a bullpen arm during the offseason. Reason i say that Crawford is eventually coming up and he’s a CF. Can have Soto, Crawford and marsh/hays(whoever at that point platooning) when nick’s contract is up. Crawford was a guy I would have been willing to give up for Robert Jr. But that was the only guy. I wouldn't have been surprised if they used Rojas to get a different outfielder in a trade. But, that didn't materialize. But, at this point, I do wonder what they are thinking with Rojas. If he's not going to play, he likely should be in the minors and they could call up Dahl (though he's not hitting right now at the AAA level), or even Scott Kingery who is hitting pretty well. I guess the plan is to keep Rojas as a defensive replacement late in games. In the meanwhile, he should be working to bunt bunt bunt and bunt some more constantly. He would greatly help himself as a hitter if he could force teams to play with the corner infielders drawn in more... those holes between the fielders would get bigger.

But at the rate he’s been doing over the last year he might be ready by 2026. He’ll be 19 at start of that year. Might have a marchan/tait platoon. if he gets to Double A midseason next year there’s a chance. I kind of think he’s likely a midseason call up 2026 or just starts in 2027

He's not that close. Marchand would be ready in 2026. He could be ready for backup catcher duty next year, especially if they wanted to give JT more off days next year. Marchand could easily be the bridge until Tait is ready... assuming that he ever becomes ready. A lot has to go right for him to be the next stud catcher.

I brought up kingery last year. I felt like he has shown more than Rodolfo Castro in his career in general. Might as well see what he could do as he’s in your system and paying him. Frankly i still think they should just give him a shot in September call up. they keep saying they believe in Rojas. I tend to think he’s used in a trade this offseason for another piece they need. I think long term Crawford is your cf. after that i think everything is up in the air. Marsh could be one. I think they sign a big free agent to play one spot.

The great thing about Turner is he can get real hot And hit a ton of homeruns. Right now it looks like he’s trying to hit home runs every at bat. He really needs to get himself back into a groove where he’s just trying to hit singles and doubles, and then the power will come with it. I think part of the reason he had struggles last year is because of that world baseball classic he got into this hitting a Homerun every single day and it got him off track.
July 31, 20241 yr really hope Alvarado is turning it around. Even the hr to kwan was a ball that kwan managed to hit out so i can’t really blame him on that pitch selection.
July 31, 20241 yr jt last year hit .262 with no one on and .205 with RISP. It’s even more of a discrepancy this year with a .313 avg with no one on base and .180 with RISP. Got to either find a way to put him at the top of the lineup to set the table or lower in the lineup hoping he can set it for when schwarber, turner and harper come back up
July 31, 20241 yr Interesting... Alvarado in... gets out of the jam, and then Strahm comes in for Soto, Judge, etc. Leave Jose feeling successful and rebuild that confidence.
