August 3, 20241 yr It would be for the best if they miss the playoffs entirely…would force them to make major changes and hopefully move on from some of these big name losers

Padres, dbacks, dodgers and brewers are good teams. I’d argue talent wise they are better than the previous two years besides Milwaukee. The Braves are ok but aren’t as talented because of the injuries they sustained. Although going to get back fried and Harris at some point. Dbacks have had a ton of injuries and managed to correct the ship. When Kelly and Rodriguez return they are better than they were last year. Dodgers still dealing with muncy and betts out. Along with Yamamoto. That roster is still overall better than past years. Padres were bad to start the year and finally playing up to the talent they have. Brewers are basically what they’ve been the past couple years minus burnes but added a really good young prospect the reality is the Phillies didn’t have April and May struggles like they did the last two years. This team as they made like no moves during the offseason besides whit has been a 86-92 win talent type team. They were never as good as they showed April and May they just had continuity coming into the season and likely motivated after dbacks debacle to prove a point. That’s worn off and they are in the grind of the season. Honestly talent wise they are likely a 90-93 win team cause they have the same flaws they had last year of 2-3 guys out of the pen you trust, chase rate coming back to what it has been and they can’t hit with RISP consistently unless they hit HRs

August 3, 20241 yr Phillies were 51-26 (.662) on June 23rd and have gone 14-18 (.438) since then. This clearly shows how desperately they need to get Taijuan Walker back off of the DL.

They didn’t play well in Colorado or San Francisco for the most part. They came back. They face St. Louis and Milwaukee. They won 5 of 6 games. But they really didn’t look great in winning those games. They only scored 7 runs the entire Milwaukee Brewers series. The pitching looked great during that series, but their offense wasn’t very good and they got some help from the brewers. It was similar to what is happening now except we had excellent pitching. And then they went to London and had issues after. Since that Rockies and giants road trip they 28-30
