Hazely leading off? Want to kill rallies before they can even start?

Very prepared for Velasquez to give up 8 runs in the next 2 innings

Amazing how we could’ve at least gone with Spencer Howard and seen what he could do and give him some valuable experience. Instead we continue to go with Velasquez and pivetta when we know what they are.

velasquez is lucky that ball wasn’t over the fence.

Hes all over the place. Anything in the zone, hes getting hammered.

It only took two innings. smh....

Ball is flying. That ball got off the end and went almost 400 feet.

His location is awful. And that’s why Velasquez shouldn’t be in the rotation.

Velasquez gon' Velasquez...

F this POS, he's Fin terrible

Thankfully we sent Howard down for the the same old Velasquez that we’ve seen for the last 3 years.

Cole Irvin....ughj

Yank this Fin guy before he gives up the other 4 runs and the bats go quiet

From what I understand, we should expect to see Howard in about a week and a half or so, whenever they pass the date for service time accrual. It makes sense to leave him off of the roster for 10 games or so for another year of cheap(er) pitching from him, especially if he's the real deal, which I think he is). I fully expect to see him in the rotation by the end of the first week of August.

This just shows talent wins and loses not the coaches

He didnt even know he hit that fair.

Hasley sucks duh my name is shocker  and I am a troll duh

Honestly d**king around with time of service so you get an extra year (Probably wouldn’t matter as you give him a contract before that anyway) during a 60 game season is how you wind up losing a division. First if he’s that great (also think he is) likely don’t even get close to the last year of arbitration anyway. second the 2-3 starts might wind up being the difference between winning or losing the division. It’s going to be close atop of the division. My guess is that it’s decided by 2-3 games. Those are potentially 2-3 howard starts compared to velasquez/pivetta

Yeah, but having coaches that can utilize that good talent helps. Gabe sucked and will continue to do so.

Said last night i wanted to see what haseley is compared to using Quinn and mccutchen all the time. Mccutchen hasn’t looked good at the plate in the first two games. He had only one hard hit ball in his at bats otherwise he’s looked completely lost. Quinn imo is a 4th outfielder.

Score them anyway you can....

At this point, you have to question the decision making of anyone in the organization who puts VV on the mound unless it’s at Lehigh.

You know they are just going to replace him with pivetta that’s the scary part.

Theres lots of things that should be questioned with this franchise. The VV is just one of many.

To be honest, I’d prefer Pivetta.  He’s bad, but at least he’s a pitcher.

Vince is like putting a shortstop with a big arm on the mound.  He really doesn’t even deserve to be called a pitcher.

What makes this worse its been the same consistent issues with velasquez the last 4 years. 4 years is enough time to know that he is what he is and it’s his 6th year overall.

I rather go with Howard. Just let the kid get some experience and the league hasn’t really seen him so you likely get 2-3 really great starts before the league catches up and he needs to make adjustments. I rather pivetta be the long reliever
