Maybe Miles Sanders is getting a career high in carries because he is having his best year?

I know it's a hard concept to grasp, but if you are effective in gaining yards and scoring TDs, maybe you get more opportunities to do those things.

The only good news for the Eagles on this front, is there is a ton of FA RB's next year, including the leagues leading rusher.  This might drive the price down for the entire group as teams wait them out.

Barkley, Hunt, Penny, Jamaal Williams, Jacobs ( rushing leader ) and Sanders.

Then you have a bunch of second and 3rd tier guys who have never really gotten a shot, or have had health issues that teams may sign to be part of a committee.

Rashaad Penny, Mostert, D'Onta Foreman ( who maybe is in the group above ), Perine, D'Ernest Johnson, Jeff Wilson.

Miles is having his 3rd lowest yards per carry season.  He is getting the carries because the Eagles are a running team.

Miles is having a career year because of his health, and getting the carries he should.  2021 could have been a career year, averaging 5.5 yards per carry.  But he missed 5 games, and had 6 games with less than 10 carries, including a game with 2 carries.

 

I am more than willing to give Hurts credit for his play, but you guys are just so unreasonable about his impact on the players around him, and will not give the players around him credit for their impact on him.

Next you will start telling me Kelce and Johnson are having career years because of Hurts.

Exactly.  1st round pick.  Or JJAWful, second round pick.  

If Hurts makes those around him better, we would not have needed to trade a 1st and 3rd for AJ Brown, and then give him a 100 million dollar extension.

Seems financially irresponsible to do that if Hurts makes those around him better, and we could have had two players for 10% of the cost.

Not talking about the Chiefs.  But, they lost their #1 WR who is on pace for 130 catches, 1909 yards and 8 TD's.  They are still going to be the #1 seed in the AFC and have a legitimate shot to win a Super Bowl.

So once again, Eagles would have no problem wining the NFC and a Super Bowl if AJ got hurt, correct ??

He is good, but he is not having a massively better year than any of his other previous highs.

Career highs - catches 58 - yards 830 - TD's 5

2022 pace - catches 62 - yards - 785 - TD's 4

I am just looking for people to be reasonable.  AJ Brown was a top 5 WR before he was an Eagles.  Devonta Smith was a Heisman trophy winner with Mac Jones before he was an Eagle.  I was told on this very board in 2019 that Dallas Goedert was a top 5 TE and we should trade Ertz, before Hurts was an Eagle.

Yes, Hurts is playing well, and exceeded my expectations, but to have a reasonable discussion, both sides need to be reasonable, and currently his fan boys are not anything in the ballpark of reasonable.

I didn’t take into consideration our running game. Was just thinking of each passing game where Mahomes can do more with less.
