Don't we have one more season on his rookie contract? He'll definitely be extended, but I don't want to do it too soon and waste that 'cheap' season. He wholeheartedly deserves a massive payday, but we don't want to squander the final year of a rookie deal.

Maybe Howie can structure it so that 2023 will be 'on the cheap', but still pay him.

Yes it won't make a difference whether he's extended now or later.  The cap hit can be moved into future years if/when needed via create structuring of bonuses etc

Good time to remind: if you just want act like middle school cliques trolling and insulting each other go to RnR.

  • Just take a moment to realize how easy things look for this offense when the quarterback is right. This team just scored 28 points against a divisional opponent in a half. Just insane where things cou

The extension this offseason is up to Hurts. If its about greed then the Eagles can wait it out with year 4 and the franchise tag. If its about team while also getting well paid then they work it out soon.

I remember all of the same arguments to get Wentz signed early. Then when That went to sheet people claimed they never wanted him signed that early....

I can honestly say I didn't want him signed at the time.

It’s all thanks to YOU GUYS we ended up with THAT GUY.

I remember how everyone said how great that contract was for the Eagles when he signed it. They made it sound like it was a bargain or a steal. I thought at the time they had no real option but to do it. Once they chose Wentz over Foles it had to be done. At the time I thought the Eagles made the right choice even with my emerging doubts about Wentz.

Best part is, we can now use our 6 picks in the first 2 rounds over the next 2 drafts to help supplement the roster. More freedom to trade up or down as well.

That’s also why I think Howie will trade at least one of these 1st round picks to obtain more picks in the future drafts. They need more controllable assets once they sign Hurts to a contract. They have a lot of older guys as well who will eventually need to be replaced. Howie is going to need to lock down these selections but I see him choosing quantity over quality.

A monster difference between Wentz and Hurts is the mental maturity and football IQ ... aside from leadership skills of course. Nothing seems to phase Jalen and he always seems in control on and off the field. Wentz on the other hand was rattled rather easily and never showed the ability to overcome adversity.

The one argument against extending him is that the qb market has gone somewhat off the rails. But if he accepts a Josh Allen deal, you sign it as quick as u can.

Exactly right. He's already moving toward $45-$50 million per year.  Howie, along with the GMs of the Bengals, Chargers and wherever Lamar lands have to move fast.  If you think the money is insane now, just give it a minute.

With that said, Hurts is arguably the best quarterback in the NFL not named Mahomes.  Pay the man.

Hurts will get extended as soon as it is possible. He’s proven himself.

This would not be signing Hurts early. We have no 5th year option. He’s entering his final year and we don’t have the cap space to franchise him in 2024. QB contracts are only going up. Eagles need to make every effort to extend Hurts this year and structure it as efficiently as possible.

Feels like Hurts and Sirianni are complements of one another. Sirianni seems so emotional and fired up all the time while Jalen is calm and almost emotionless. I hope Sirianni doesn’t burn himself out with how he is.

I wanted him out in exchange for a Kings Ransom and go with the more effective Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles.  I was damn right too!

With Hurts it's different, he doesn't have a 10-cent head like that country bumpkin Carson.  Extend him unless he asks for something crazy.

Ends on a Josh Allen turnover. Seems fitting for this season.

As much as I love that Jalen is often the "grown-up in the room”, I would prefer it if the head coach was as mature or more mature than the starting qb. With Sirianni, this is not the case.

Only a Lombardi will completely get them off the fence.  No matter what happens next, I'm so proud of Jalen.    I can't wait to see him with the Blue NFC Championship background at the press conference.

Crazy when you realize the exclusive club Jalen’s in. Him, McNabb, Jaws, and Foles are the only Eagles quarterbacks to make it to the NFC Championship Game. All of them have won it at least once. Can he follow?

It’s true sometimes Sirianni can get a little too emotional and talk too much. He’s emotional in a different way from Vermeil was, but sometimes the emotional guy can burn out of the message can get stale. This kind of stuff has a shelf life and if they start losing a lot it could go bad quickly.

Hopefully 🤞

I'm sure many NFL Fans and Media didn't have Jalen Hurts advancing to the NFC Championship before both Dak Prescott and Carson Wentz after only two years of starting on their Bingo Card.  The Defense rest Your Honor.

Ah remember how so many thought it was insulting to Josh Allen when Hurts was mentioned in the same vain as him? Well we got it wrong, because Hurts isn’t nearly the turnover matching that Josh Allen is. 😂

As great as I feel about the fact that we have so many draft picks,... and I do. It's not like we can keep this years team intact and simply add on more talent. We have a lot of older players on this team that are just too expensive. I see youth movement in our future. Also if we do win the SB and every team in the league tries to pick us apart. So all those picks will be used to draft younger replacements. Howie will still bring in free agents, Hurts is the QB,  so I fully expect us to be very competitive.

Siri compared Hurts to Michael Jordan. How much Hurts picked up the rest of the Eagles team , in the Giants game.

I can not think of a higher praise, for any athlete, when your head coach compares you to Michael Jordan.

Awesome!!! Love it.

To be fair to Allen, the Bills defense and lack of running game dug them a hole, and meant they had to pass it a lot in the worst possible conditions for it, and Stefon Diggs is the worst #1 receiver in the league to have when the chips are down, the guys a self centered immature ass clown.

Plus a minor point, I don't understand how the NFL can let a team play in white during a snowstorm where there's no clash of uniforms.
