I'm happy to have been wrong.

So am I, but these guys can not let go of people who had a differing opinion, and what they clearly want is their props.  So I gave it to them.

Good time to remind: if you just want act like middle school cliques trolling and insulting each other go to RnR.

  • Just take a moment to realize how easy things look for this offense when the quarterback is right. This team just scored 28 points against a divisional opponent in a half. Just insane where things cou

I don’t know why you’re acting all butthurt about people calling you on your opinion. You didn’t seem to have a problem with inundating every single possible discussion with your take on hurts in the off-season and midway thru this season. So you should have no problem with other people doing it.

Weren't you the guy bringing up Rueben Randle a week ago?

If Hurts had played poorly this season, you would have never let the people who supported him forget about it. So don't cry me a river that you are the one being constantly reminded how bad your qb analysis was.

You were right and I was wrong

Well I’m not going to try and make someone stay anywhere they don’t want to be. Good day sir.

It's crazy how lucky we are to have Hurts as the Eagles QB. But it's crazier that people keep arguing over him.

Why does this sentence read to me like you’re saying, "maaaan…. My GRANDMAMA GAVE ME THAT CHAIN!”

are you gonna go cry in the car?

Herbert is just a superior passer to Hurts, and once the Chargers figure out how to get out of their own way, he will get his in the playoffs.

How does Herbert get a pass from you.  Hurts has done everything to show he's a better QB, but somehow it's the Chargers fault that they stock the roster with a Top 3 RB in the league plus multiple legitimate WRs and he can't score more than 3 points in a half to prevent a complete meltdown loss?

I started unsure about Hurts.  But I'm sold now.

Will he win multiple super bowls for the Eagles, not sure, but he'll make us a perennial contender.  Instead, you wanna follow the Redskins plan.  Looking at what they have now, can you even try to make the argument that they should have held on to Cousins.  No.  He was this team's Hurts.  No matter what he did, he couldn't convince the front office that he wasn't good enough, so they sent him to Minnesota, and they've been stuck with the dregs of the NFL at the QB position.  Imagine being in a position where you had to outbid yourself for Carson Wentz?  When the best option you have at QB is someone from ODU that couldn't make the backup position on half of the other teams in the NFL.

That's what you want?

On top of this, Hurts is better than Cousins.  He's better than all of the Andy Dalton years in Cincy.  He's better than Dak Presott.  He's better than so many other starting QBs and recent franchise QBs, but because he doesn't pass some stupid eye test you want him gone.  You sound like that dude who was convinced Carr was gonna be the greatest QB to ever take a snap in the NFL.

There can only be one best QB in the league.  Is he better than Mahomes and Joe Burrow....you'll never know.   You don't know how those guys would look playing in this offense.  If Mahomes gets drafted by someone other than Andy Reid, you might never know who he is.  If Burrow goes to the Redskins, he's probably out of the league by now.

I get it.  He transferred in college and wasn't drafted in the first round, so he'll never be good.

We messed up the pick with Wentz, and history is not on anyone's side when you draft QBs.  You are backed into a corner to convince yourself that a QB has to be good because he's available to you.

Open your eyes and see how lucky we are to not have to worry about a position that so many other teams have absolutely no plan for.

Josh Allen Better than Hurts ? Ok

wow...what an interesting couple of pages...one of the biggest trolls for the past two years with his non-stop anti-Hurts narrative gets an epic smackdown followed by a meltdown. The same guy who prides himself in crushing others...wow...he can't gaslight fast enough

Not a meltdown , just giving these guys what they want.  It’s not about the team, it’s about 1 guy.  Unless you are face deep in his taint you are a accises of everything including being racist.

They actually care more about being right than anything else.

I want the Philadelphia Eagles led by Jalen Hurts to win a Super Bowl, but it is bigger than one guy who thinks he is Michael Jordan before he has won a damn thing.

There are certain aspects that I like about Josh Allen’s game over Jalen, but the same goes both ways. The comparison for these two isn’t a far fetched as some thought just a year ago. Both players have shown that hard work can pay off. One thing is certain and that is Jalen’s style of quarterback play is a winning formula as much if not more than Josh Allen’s style of play.

Nice try.....so you see yourself as some kind of victim...too hilarious

Hurts never said he was Michael Jordan, it was his coach. Also, weren't you the guy who spent the whole offseason telling everyone that you couldn't win a Super Bowl without elite qb play? So it was okay to focus on Hurts when you thought he wasn't the guy, but now that he is the guy, you suddenly think the team is the only important thing.

This is the Hurts thread. If you want to talk about him, this is the place to do it. If you don't want to talk about him, and it is pretty clear you don't, then maybe stop posting in the thread that was created to talk about him?

Yeah. If Howie didn't "stupidly" draft Hurts, they may have been stuck trying to fix Wentz and Sirianni possibly getting fired for it later. Lots of Eagles fans, including myself, hated pick at time. It's almost like Howie possibly knew something to draft Hurts. How Hurts has played so far makes it easier to watch videos like this:

Starts at 1:01:34. Can have a good laugh about it. My favorite is "I don't want Tysom Hill 2.0!!!!"

I for one am not worried about what happens when Hurts gets paid. He led a team to the playoffs being forced to throw to Jalen Reagor and a defense giving up 80% completion percentages to average NFL quarterbacks.

I thought Hurts was Lurie's pick?

I thought he was Doug’s pick the way he jumped for joy when they got him.

At this point Hurts has proven himself to be a very good qb and Wentz isn't capable of being a starter. I stood up for Wentz but I won't anymore and if you can't let go and realize that many of us were wrong about Hurts then you have become the trolls.

Hurts can throw very well and run when needed. I would like to see more throwing and less running to preserve his career

If we extend Hurts this off-season we should have very manageable cap numbers for the next couple of years. But there is no doubt it will impact our ability to surround him with talent.

Hurts is really good, so we should contend most years. But there is no doubt that things will get tougher. This is a golden opportunity this year, having an elite QB on a second round rookie wage. Hopefully we take it.

5 MORE DAYS.  Player Press Conferences tomorrow.  I feel like a kid in the candy store right now.    I expect the Linc to to be loud Sunday.    I saw a Stat this morning that the Eagles are 6-0 Vs Playoff Teams this year when Jalen Starts.   (Vikings, Jaguars, Cowboys, Giants 3x)

Yeah I saw the same! I mean the big one is that they've only lost 1 game with Jalen under center this year. That's really impressive.

I supported Carson through all the drama (Though I was torn about Nick not starting after the Super Bowl win)  but I was not happy he couldn't stay healthy for the playoffs.  Nick played 5 Playoff games (4-1 record) as a backup and Mccown had to finish the only playoff game he started (Though it was a terrible cheap hit).  Call it unlucky or a fluke the point was, Carson wasn't there when it was time for the Playoffs.  Jalen has already played in 2 Playoff games on the way to his 3rd which will be an NFC Championship game in only 2 years as a starter.  He also already won a playoff game in his short time as a starter (Carson still hasn't won a playoff game).    Yes Wentz success in 2017 can't be denied and he will forever have love from me.  2019 was a good season for him too but another bad playoff situation had me feeling like it might be time.  Then 2020 was a disaster.    But once Doug made that tough decision to start Jalen, I was ready for him to be the starter.

I would love to see Hurts destroy this myth --- have a long career doing what he does.

Myth? It's literally what has happened to every run heavy QB up to this point....that's a statistical fact at the moment. Even if he has a long successful career being a 60/40 kinda guy, he would be an outlier, not the new rule
