I was hopeful that Hurts would put on a great performance against the best defense in the league but I think last night's game showed where he needs to improve most during the offseason. He looked scared to throw the ball a lot and left clean pockets all game. I think he was so worried about making a mistake or turning the ball over that it actually helped make our passing game nonexistent. This is the transition he has to make because you can see how banged up hes getting taking these hits. He cant continue this type of game in order for the Eagles to succeed after this year.

Good time to remind: if you just want act like middle school cliques trolling and insulting each other go to RnR.

  • Just take a moment to realize how easy things look for this offense when the quarterback is right. This team just scored 28 points against a divisional opponent in a half. Just insane where things cou

Obviously next season is the real test.

His passing couldn’t have dropped off because he hurt this throwing shoulder? Could it?

Are you suggesting he limped into the playoffs?

You can't judge Hurts passing game yesterday because Purdy was hurt on his first drive after the Eagles already scored on a drive that featured passing including the big play to Smith.  Once they saw the 49ers were going to struggle on offense and the defense was going to destroy their offense, it was not needed to pass.  No need for Hurts to throw very much.  They ran all over the top rush defense in the NFL when everyone talked about you can't run on them.  They scored 31 points.  Even with Purdy they would have won, the defense would have been feasting on him all day anyway.

I didn't like that Hurts ran a few times too many though especially later in the game.  The 49ers were frustrated and playing dirty and wanted to hurt somebody.  He should run when necessary because of a play breakdown or he sees that he can get the first down.  But in that situation coach shouldn't have designed runs for him.  I get that a lot of coaches and players like to just be themselves and do what they normally do but you have to have situational awareness.

I feel like I need to nitpick your first sentence. He didn't need to pass much because of Purdy's injury but his actual passing game did have some question marks. There were definitely 2 passes that weren't good and I'm sure he would want back

My heart didn't like Hurts breaking tackles. I was so worried lol

I kept repeating "please be ok" lol

Maybe Josh Allen or Justin Herbert will take the Hurts step next season?

Purdy hurt his throwing arm and couldn't even throw screen passes. Here's every pass by Hurts yesterday:

We only put up 38 more yards passing vs a team that literally couldnt even throw for an entire half.

... and won by 24 points. Everybody could see they couldn't throw after the injuries and we already had a significant lead. The only way we could have lost that game was to allow that defense to get turnovers and score. Last year we dominated the Broncos, built a nice lead by halftime and only threw 3 passes after that. We won handily --- same with yesterday.

Yeah and it shows just how good this team is around Jalen, but theres no mistaking that Jalen played awful with his passing yesterday.

Looking back at the 2017 Super Bowl run...

Foles had 969 yards of total offense and 6 TD's, completed 72.6% of his passes, and averaged 323 yards of total offense per game.

Hurts so far has 348 yards of total offense, 4 total TD's, completing 63.6% of his passes, and is averaging 174 yards of total offense per game.

In the NFCCG and Super Bowl, Foles passed for 352 and 373 yards respectively, both more than Hurts total offense through 2 playoff games.

See? I told you you would find some stupid crap to knock hurts on. Great job, Tyrod Taylor! 👍🏿

Did Foles play a defense comparable to the SanFran D?

Yeah, the Vikings were the #1 defense in the NFL in 2017 in yards and points allowed.

Supposedly the Vikings were "legendary” especially on 3rd down.

which made that ass-kicking all the sweeter.

I can't make an observation and comparison to 2017 without you getting bent out of shape ??

I mean Jalen and missed tackles were the biggest reasons why the 49ers were still in the game close to the end of the 2nd qter. After that opening drive Jalen was useless and got 1 first down in 3 drives. The 49ers were starting at dam near midfield every drive because Jalen couldnt do anything. It wasnt until Gainwell came in and lit a spark for the offense and we eventually tired out their defense.

I wasn't allowed to compare Hurts to McNabb, Josh Allen, or anybody else that had ever been labeled a success. The difference is My comparisons were positive, you're just looking for a way to gripe about positive things.

Not griping at all, comparing the current QB to the Super Bowl winning QB.

Just ran the RB numbers, through two games, the current Eagles RB's have 345 rushing yards and 5 rushing TD's, compared to 2017, 347 rushing yards and 3 TD's in 3 games.

Who would have ever guessed that a QB might miss a throw or two against the #1 ranked defense. I don't suppose anybody else made any mistakes. Nobody missed a block. AJ Brown didn't drop a pass or anything.

I'm glad this team knows it takes a whole team.

Nick Foles didn't miss many.

I like how they cant admit Hurts just was not good passing the football. Its as simple as that. BTW the weakness of the 49ers defense being their secondary and against deep passes.

And minus a circus catch by Devonta ( which he actually didn't catch ) Hurts was 0'fer on deep passes.
