idk. What if the refs ruled that Corey Clement didn’t catch his td pass in the superbowl?

The nitpicking in a blowout playoff win is so hilarious. It’s the playoffs. Nobody gets style points. You win, you advance. By hook or crook. Jalen hurts was one of the biggest reasons the rbs got their 3 tds. You guys are trying SO HARD to make this something it isn’t and hasn’t been all year.

you want to FINALLY have a reason to say "I was right about hurts!”. You want a loss to be on him. Looks like you’ll have to wait until the Super Bowl. Maybe he’ll only throw for 50 yards and the eagles win 55-17. "He better play better in week 1 of the preseason or else!”

There were a couple TD catches in that Super Bowl that were close. It's funny that people want to gripe about that play as if it didn't officially count. Are we going to go back in history and remove every stat where a team benefitted from getting away with something? How many plays were made because an offensive hold wasn't called? How many sacks were the result of defensive holding not called? Would Michael Irvin have any TD receptions in his career if OPI was enforced each time? People try a little too hard to find something to knock. Heck, I expect Smith to make that catch. That he lost it at the end was really on him, yet they have to make it on Hurts. lol

Awful was that game vs the giants last year where he threw 3 picks. Yesterday, he wasn't as sharp as normal. He didn't hurt the team with mistakes.

I mean if RTK pronounces something it must be true right?

This was a good defensive concept. It's something we need to prepare for in the future.

Don’t you think that’s a bit telling?

Hurts didn’t pass well yesterday, but it was good enough. He didn’t turn the ball over which was all he needed to do, and he did his part in the run game.

He can be and has been better

Hurts didn't look scared or worried about anything.  They knew it was time to grind out a win with the run, let the defense feast and save the plays to not put on film and relax Hurts' shoulder for the SB.  He passed more earlier in the game then they ran more with a big lead.  Shocker.

I pretty much agree with you about grinding it out but to be honest, I think Hurts' shoulder is 100%, I think everyone should stop giving him a pass there, no pun intended.

I'm worried about dude, going back to his 'Bama days, he doesn't play well in the big games, in the NFL, the didn't play well against Tampa, the Giants nor the 9ers, now is not the time to start laying eggs.

I'm also concerned about our running game, if they don't have a 4 lane highway to run through you get  nothing from them, none of the Eagle backs are what you'd call strong runners.

The QB played well enough for us to score 31 points against the best defense in the NFL and easily get us to the SB.  After leading us to a 38 point performance the previous week.

Good enough for everyone except the circle of idiots still choking on the former QB's balls, a QB who never won a playoff game.

Also not to mention we ran the ball 44 times at 3.4 YPC. Thats not good lol. We had to take those 3.4 yards because Hurts couldnt get more than that with his arm.

You have a real weird hate on for Hurts. Not really grounded in reality but I get that some people like to double down on extreme non progressive thinking.

Minshew 2 carries -2 by design. Hurts 3 carries for 2 yards on a sneak for a 1st down and 2 shots at the TD from the 1.

5 carries for 0 yards and perfection  ( the 2 runs at the 1 got them 7 points and 45 seconds off the clock)

So you take those limited and purposeful runs out and the Eagles ran for 3.8 ypc and 147 yards against the #1 D and the #1 ypc D at 3.4 per carry.

This while the 49ers are keying on the run due to weather conditions and score.

The 49ers gave up 12 rushing TDs in their first 19 games. The Eagles got 3 on them.

The Eagles 148 was the 2nd most the 49ers gave up all year and #1 was vs Atlanta with 4 defensive starters out. (Bosa, Armstead, and a couple lower end guys)

The 49ers held their opponents under 80 yards rushing in 13 of 19 games, including Dallas last week.

Some of these guys just live to worry. That's probably why one of them is looking for new undies.

Off topic a bit. He is up at the Syracuse/Virginia basketball game right now. Chilling out watching some live college hoops.

It's fun watching these running plays and seeing how much of an impact Jalen has on them.  Watching the Boston Scott TD a big part of that is that Jalen soaked up the attention of the meat of that defense trying to see if he was keeping it to run.

BG is there too. Wonder why they picked that game to attend.

This thread sure devolved quickly. I'm not super thrilled with how he played in the 1st half but I'm not exactly worried going against KC's defense in a dome. Our playcalling needs to be better because there was a good amount of head scratchers too.

The only reason the Bengals looked bad was because of their patchwork OL. Otherwise I don't think that game ends up being very close.

Ain’t gonna lie, thought Hurts played poorly for the most part. The thing is, it’s hard to pinpoint why he wasn’t performing well. It’s probably a combination of factors.

1) SF D is that good and they got away with some extracurricular activity against our receivers (penalties aside).

2) Jalen’s shoulder is still hurting him - maybe more so after the Gints game having only a week to nurse it

3) The game may have been a little too big for him. Nerves maybe. Demeco was dialing up schemes that confused and rushed him and he didn’t want to make any mistakes (which he didn’t and that’s a plus)

4) The wind?

In the end, a win is a win  we’ve seen this performance from him on occasion and he mostly makes up for it with his legs as he did later on in the game  But he did look out of sorts and missed a few throws - some significantly. I don’t know if this will be an issue in a couple of weeks against a Chiefs D that’s playing well, but isn’t as talented as SF.  His shoulder should be moderately better with 2 weeks rest and there will be no elements to contend with in a dome.
How he approaches this huge moment is another factor. Is he confident, - nervous? Does he have that relaxed attitude like Foles did in 2017?
In the end, he has to be better with his passing for this game. We have a great group of receivers and we need to utilize them. We cannot be one dimensional against a Chiefs off. that can put points on the board  even with our phenomenal D. Sure, we can still win with another lackluster passing performance, but that’s placing more of a burden on our D. We need to fire on all cylinders for this one.

Hurts was good against the Giants. He just didn’t need to do much because the game was over by halftime.

Arguing over the good or bad of Hurts is pointless. He’s going to be here. His team has gone farther than every quarterback people wanted over him. He’s going to be an Eagle. It’s just time to accept that and stop trying to over analyze every frigging throw. Also it’s time to give up the lame injury argument. More guys seemed to get hurt in the pocket this year than people want to accept. We just saw the 49ers lose two guys in the pocket in one game. Sounds like Purdy needs Tommy John’s surgery so he might not be ready for the beginning of the season. Face it people. Hurts is your quarterback. Suck it up and deal with it.

Eagles Playoff Records Starting QB All Time Super Bowl Era

Mcnabb: 9-7 (5 NFC Championship Games/Super Bowl XXXIX)
Foles: 4-2 (1 NFC Championship Game/Super Bowl LII)
Jaws: 4-4 (1 NFC Championship Game/Super Bowl XV)
Hurts: 2-1 (1 NFC Championship Game/Super Bowl LVII)
Cunningham: 1-4
Pete: 1-1
Garcia: 1-1
Vick: 0-1
Wentz: 0-1

Jalen already has one of the best Playoff Records for an Eagles Starting QB in the Super Bowl Era.   Donovan's 9 Win Playoff Record is one of the highest in NFL History.  He ranks 15th All Time.   It's going to be hard to beat but if Jalen plays the rest of the Decade, I think it's possible.

Calling Hurts awful is just trolling at this point
