Good time to remind: if you just want act like middle school cliques trolling and insulting each other go to RnR.

  • Just take a moment to realize how easy things look for this offense when the quarterback is right. This team just scored 28 points against a divisional opponent in a half. Just insane where things cou

Lol nice usage. Ignored all the love I gave him huh? Brad Johnson got his ring through a great defense and being smart with the ball. At this moment, that's jalen's path too. I think he can be much more than that.

What love? That was the stupidest post I've seen in a while. This ain't Burger King.

Then you must not proofread your own post

You've already pretty much put it that you don't care if this kids career is destroyed as long as you are entertained

There is zero shot imo that Hurts signs for less than 40 mil and I highly doubt he plays a full 2023 season without the Eagles signing him to a new deal. Like it was said above, the dude went 16-1 as a starter this year and we made it to a SB with him at the ripe old age of 24 with an entire Offense revolving around his strengths. You have to lock that guy in ... he still has 2-3 seasons left imo before even reaching his prime. Hurts is a tireless worker; I can see his passing skills continuing to improve well into his 20's which will see him pick and choose his running opportunities more wisely. I get that paying your QB limits your ability to sign other positions around him, but it's a necessary evil ... plus Hurts is the heartbeat of this team in more ways than just his QBing ... this team plays with a different confidence level when he's on the field. That leadership and presence is something you don't want to lose.

Unless Jalen wants to go the Tom Brady route and get paid under the table, there’s zero shot Jalen is signing a contract that is less than $50m APY.

Not really sure what else is there to discuss.

Those are your words not mine. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't football entertainment? I seriously can't believe you continue to try to make Hurts into what you want him to be. You can't appreciate what he is. I'll never understand why to you, passing TDs are more valuable than running TDs. Both are worth 6 points.

In 2020, we scored 20.9 points per game. Last year, we scored 26.1. This year, 28.1 (regular season) and 34 ppg in the playoffs.

Yes I agree with that. He has developed that part of his game faster than I think I’ve ever seen. He also rushed for 760 yards and 13 TDs in the regular season. He had 165 attempts this year to 139 last year. More kneel downs but he still ran just as much.

My post was more just messing with DUM as a joke over the context of the conversation.

Gotcha lol I think most of us agree he ran his ass off this year while taking a big step in the right direction with his arm. The argument surrounding him now is when does he run less and get more in the air. If he wins the the Superbowl, I'm pretty sure it will be the lowest throwing tds for a starter since Brad Johnson. Not exactly the QB I want to be tied with.  Jalen did what needed to be done this season. Hoping next season he takes another step. Looks like he will keep all his coaches which will be nice

Lol at comparing Hurts to Brad Johnson. Hurts is a second team all pro and MVP finalist.

Hurts is in all likelihood getting signed to a big extension this year. He is the franchise. Now by all means discuss that you want to look at ways of him running a bit less, but you need to accept that he is our long term future and getting a big contract. They can't afford to let him play out his last year.

That whole post was horrible. He predicted something that hasn't happened to set up his future gripes. But didn't you see all the love? Imagine being more obsessed with passing stats than winning games and championships.

Not really comparing as I am putting in context of his passing stats were for the year. Hurts is a franchise QB in the making while Brad was a plug and play kinda guy.  Jalen did what needed to be done this year. I stated that. I've also stayed pay the man.  He is the eagles QB moving forward. 22 passing tds with 13 rushing tds worked this year. Stating I would expect him to get the passing up and rushing down

Stated over and over he did what needed to be done this year lol

You literally just compared him to Brad Johnson 🤦🏽‍♂️.

Saying he did what needed to be done implies he was a game manager. He nearly broke the Eagles franchise record for passing and put together 35 touchdowns in 15 games.

I compared the passing tds and how the team was built. Jalen isnt exactly lighting the world on fire these playoffs, but he hasn't had to because.... the defense. It has similarities. Jalen is obviously more prominent in our success this year, but playoffs....eh. Jalen will and should get paid. He should also go into next year more focused on the air....his shoulder is probably reminding him of that

More like:

"I'm worried about his noddle arm."

"I'm worried about his accuracy."

"I'm worried about his lack of arm talent."

"I'm worried that FA WRs won't want to come here because our QB is a RB."

"I'm worried that the Eagles with three 1st rd picks, won't be willing to trade for  a real Qb this year and waste another with a RB playing QB."

"I'm worried that the Eagles didn't give Carson Strong a legit shot to showcase his arm talent."

"I'm worried that  Hurts will show a little more improvement this season and fool the Eagles into passing on a real QB prospect in the 2023 draft."

"I'm worried that we won't lose enough games to convince the team to move on from Hurts."

"I'm worried that it's the team, not Hurts, making this offense click. Any QB would have the same success with this talent around him."

... and now, all of a sudden, it's:

"The best player in the history of the world keeps risking himself to injury and he's going to gyp us of a record setting Galactic Sports Icons Hall Of Fame first ballot induction ceremony where he thanks Eagles fans for all their wonderful advice and apologizes for still leaving a couple plays out there."

Today's wonderful new addition:

"I'm worried that he'll win a Super Bowl with hardly any passing TDs and then we'll be tied to him."

You know you should give us doubters more credit. Jalen himself has said he’s used the criticisms as fuel to get him where he is.

You’re all welcome

Sigh. Yes I'm worried we win the Superbowl.  Whatever will I do as an Eagles fan?

I feel like I'm reading Mad magazine except both spies are black.

So for all those people that said "Running QB's will never win a superbowl", I guess we're about to find out.

Hopefully this will shut them up

He's shut me up about that. Still worried about longevity though

No.

People need to understand that Hurts is a 24 year old second team all pro, pro bowl starter and MVP finalist. He has gone 16-1 as a starter and we are 0-2 without him.

Teams are desperate for a young franchise QB. And you think the Eagles won’t be invested in him because he wasn’t a first round pick?

Hurts is entering into the final year of his contract and the Eagles really don’t have the cap space to franchise him.

Stafford is a bad example. He’s 34. He didn’t get as much money, but his cap hits are higher earlier than what we would want because the Rams were concerned about his age.

If we could get Hurts for less than Murray then great, but the reality is that contract will be the minimum contract and he’s probably going to get more.

Extending Hurts is going to be a priority for the Eagles this year.

I'm trying to point out which one of these sentences has any inaccuracies in them.

This is a solid post.  Thank you for explaining these facts to people who seem to be stuck on draft rounds, Carson Strong, old QB contracts, etc.

Hurts is gonna get paid well.  If not here, there are a bunch of teams that would line up just to get a chance to fly him over to their facilities and hammer out a deal.

Raiders, Indianapolis, Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Jets, crap...the Giants, possibly Arizona, if I were Minnesota I'd think about it, Detroit, the list goes on and on....

So I know I caught flack for the limping in the playoffs comment....but Jalen himself said that he isn't hiding the fact the shoulder is something he is still dealing with ....guess clearing the injury list wasn't what everyone thought it meant....

Dead. What have I started hahaha

I don't know why you disagree.  He is....although he has his limitations.  Good thing he got coached up by Brian Johnson.  I mentioned in another thread, we should draft another QB late 1st or 2nd to develop....You know...factory and all.  Insurance.

Anthony Richardson!

Actually in all honesty the more I think about it the more it makes sense. Im not sure when in the draft they should draft, but yeah Jalen needs a legit backup QB. Someone that can run the same offense too.

38 minutes ago, 4for4EaglesNest said:

I wouldn't say strictly as a backup, maybe get someone who they can develop in the passing game more and doesn't put their body in harms way as much as Hurts does.  Little competition can't hurt.  Kinda like, in case of emergency break glass.  I think we're on the same page.

This is when Howie usually grabs one for the QB factory
