Congrats you win on a bogus call to end the game. Refs were probably in the locker room popping champagne with them.

On top of that Jalen had two passes that should have been caught by Smitty and Watkins that probably put him over 400 passing yards in the game. šŸ˜‚

Also true. Watkins is hopefully gone as well next year.

There is little reason why Watkins needs to stay on this team. He can't be counted on at all and when he does make a play he fumbles.

I'm not trashing him at all. I said he bawled out after the fumble. That doesn't mean I'm rushing to pay him after what happened with Wentz and based on the fact that defenses catch up to systems. I don't see much downside to waiting one more year even if it costs them a few more million each year. If he plays like he did tonight he will darn well earn it. If something happens they aren't locked into a long term deal.

Oh there’s downside to not paying him but that doesn’t matter. The Eagles will pay Jalen Hurts. We have no say in the matter.

I thought the Watkins one was DPI. It's hard to reach out for a pass when someone is draped on your shoulders. Not complaining about the non-call, but I'm not blaming Watkins for that either.Ā

Probably. Those are my thoughts, though. The downside is a few extra million a year if he is the guy we saw tonight or saving themselves a problem if defenses catch up to what they are doing and he isn't able to adapt. I'd like to use that money on players for one more year as well.

Ball hit his hands. You’re paid to do one job and the gloves do all the work these days.

Seems more to me like he’s been the one doing the adapting just like Josh Allen did. The only difference is Jalen’s not getting that same respect even from his own fan base.

I’d like to see him play next year before paying him. There’s always a fear of him being a one year wonder. But theyll likely pay him and we just have to hope he continues to be hungry and come back next year with a bigger chip on his shoulders.

I’m with you it probably was a PI, but he still should have caught that one.Ā

If you don’t offer Hurts a contract, he demands a trade. As he should. You also lose all respect from the team.Ā

Even in your imaginary world where everyone is just okay with it. You lose him at the end of the year. We have no 5th year option. We can’t afford to franchise him.

What is the hurry to pay him? A few million more a season? 50 vs 45? I'll take that risk to watch and see. We'll agree to disagree but that's not a shot at Hurts. It's a they got burned on Wentz and I don't see the rush.

BS.

So they can afford to pay him like the top QB but not tag him? LOL OK...

We disagree but as Eazy said they will do what they do.

Is it better to get ahead of Burrow and Herbert or wait till after when they really blow the numbers up?

The problem is the other young quarterbacks lurking with future contracts. The other issue is letting him play on that deal after he’s led this team to the SB is kind of foolish. The longer they wait to pay him the more it will cost in the end. Besides did they really get burned by the Wentz deal considering they went to the playoffs immediately after he left and the SB two years later? Howie got that taken cater of.

I won't be upset if they extend him. I'd wait for the reasons I expressed. I don't care enough past that. We'll see what happens.

Hurts balled out, was by far the best part of our team, fumbled sucked, but he more than made up for it.

We have our Franchise QB, there is nothing to discuss in this regard.

We disagree but as Eazy said they will do what they do.

If they’re not going to pay him then they really look bad, because they’re the ones calling him the great leader, comparing him to Jordan, and the owner himself saying he has nothing more to prove. šŸ˜‚

Decent perspective I haven't thought about yet. We'll see what he costs.

Yes. If you extend Hurts, you keep the cap hits manageable for the next 2/3 years because you backload the contract/spread it out with bonuses etc. if you have to franchise him, you have to pay a huge amount in 2024.Ā

If the Eagles choose to wait then that’s their prerogative to do so. I’m not going to be outraged by their choice regardless.Ā

Fumble sucked but Jalen also answered the call afterwards and played as well as we could have hoped. I still question the decision to QB draw it there on 3rd and 6 when we were realistically still in punting field position. We're also a BS overturned catch from Devonta and Watkins dropping a perfect ball from the game turning out differently. The end of the game just left a sour taste in my mouth.

Him aside I still do worry about defenses catching up to their scheme. It always happens and I wonder how Nick/Hurts will adjust.Ā

He will cost less if they get it done before Hebert and Burrow, but if they wait and he balls out more then he’s going to cost more.

They are still going to be paying him 43-46 million aĀ  year even if they backload it
