If the Eagles choose to wait then that’s their prerogative to do so. I’m not going to be outraged by their choice regardless.

I would be. Now if Hurts demands 300 million over 5 years all guaranteed then maybe the Eagles should wait.

But you know as well as I do the Eagles are going to make every effort to extend Hurts this year and they would be idiots not to.

Good time to remind: if you just want act like middle school cliques trolling and insulting each other go to RnR.

  • Just take a moment to realize how easy things look for this offense when the quarterback is right. This team just scored 28 points against a divisional opponent in a half. Just insane where things cou

I think they will add more wrinkles to the offense. Do you remember last year how we didn’t even see a lot of motion called, but this year we saw a ton more?

True but they haven’t had a great DC in awhile. Schwartz was just as bad if not worse. Gannon has hidden behind talent all year and was just exposed big time.

Give Jim Schwartz this team, Eagles win this Super Bowl today. Jonathan Gannon is a sorry arse DC!!!!!!!!! It took a special moron like Gannon for Eagles to lose!!!!!!!!! Not sure if this sorry arse Gannon even belongs in college as a DC!!!!!!!!!! He's Jason Garrett of DCs!!!!!!!!

Can someone explain to me how a DC with all this talent... healthy talent at that gets out coached and beat by a banged up offense? I don't buy that Mahomes was all that hurt by the way. He pulled a Jim Brown.

On another note. Did Vagino F us?

Fumble sucked but Jalen also answered the call afterwards and played as well as we could have hoped. I still question the decision to QB draw it there on 3rd and 6 when we were realistically still in punting field position. We're also a BS overturned catch from Devonta and Watkins dropping a perfect ball from the game turning out differently. The end of the game just left a sour taste in my mouth.

That happened after a false start too which sucks even more.

I’m not going to be mad about it, because I believe Howie knows what he’s doing and if he messes it up he’s going to fix it.

Not worried about it in the slightest. Hurts is constantly improving, he'll be even better next year.

It's true.  Gannon got out coached. Not once did he attempt to bring pressure. I'm still scratching my my at 2 back to back wide open TDs given up. Steichen is gone but unfortunately Gannon is back.

They are still going to be paying him 43-46 million a  year even if they backload it

Howie is playing chess when everyone else is playing checkers. I wouldn’t worry too much about it, because that’s the price to pay. Personally I don’t think any team should pay quarterbacks anymore.

That is a very good question. What pisses me off the most is now the 49ers and others will be talking about how we got exposed and were frauds all along

Oh he brought pressure that one time where they left the back wide open for a TD. Reid owned him

Stings even more that it was by Reid. He gave us two Super Bowl Ls... thanks Reid

Chiefs in the red zone basically had guys completely uncovered. This game the Eagles compounded mistakes too like you mentioned with that false start that turned into a fumble. How about the bad punt threat turned into a big return? Worse possible time for him to shank that punt.

Makes me wonder if Siposs coming back was a bad move.

I never understood why they never really addressed the punter situation before all this, because both punters weren’t that good.

Those bums can say whatever they want crying on the sidelines. Anyways I though I would share this with you as to why it’s better to lock up Hurts now:

"With so much buzz around quarterbacks across the league, ESPN's Dan Graziano weighed in on Hurts' future:

"I expect the Eagles to work to sign quarterback Jalen Hurts to an extension early in the offseason. They know the price has likely gone to $50 million a year or more, and with Cincinnati's Joe Burrow and the Chargers' Justin Herbert also extension-eligible this summer, and a Lamar Jackson megadeal still possible, the prices at the top of the QB market could ratchet up quickly."

Regardless how we feel about it, Jalen’s getting paid.

Hope we find a OC that won't get him murdered like in the Chicago game if he gets those big bucks.

More than 50 a year is insane. Unless you have PM who can win with very little talent teams aren't going to be able to win paying that. This isn't a knock on Hurts, but even with a good OL and Brown and Smith they struggled to move the ball at times. They moved it, but it seemed laborious is what I mean. At 50+/year they probably don't make that Brown trade. I'm not going to say trade the guy away and get a ton of picks and rebuild with someone they draft this year, but at the same time that is a freaking anchor.

They are going to need to adjust. My guess the new OC will be Brian Johnson.

Hurts will get paid mega bucks. We need to move past that talking point already.

This is the problem with quarterback economics. It kills football teams and unless you have a super special talent like Mahomes it’s going to hurt teams that have to pay these guys. This is why Howie needs to get more picks and try and get as many young players on manageable contracts as possible. It’s why I think he should trade at least one of these firsts in hopes to get more firsts down the road also. Here’s something to consider though. Remember Hurts took a 4 win roster to the playoffs before so he is one of those guys capable of elevating his team even though he wasn’t even that good yet.

The size of the salary cap QB are getting isn't sustainable, though. Do you think other players are going to watch QB getting $54 a year and say good for them or pay me as well? I can see teams starting to draft someone high, roll the dice for 5 years, then start over...unless owners raise the cap more than they are willing. $223 million cap and a $54/million a year QB don't mix well.

A rising tide lifts all ships. Pass rusher and WRs are already sniffing 30m per. It will only go up.

Eventually something will give. Either the cap goes up or teams stop paying quarterbacks so much money.
