Elon Musk is undoubtedly a genius. He is also a complete lunatic and narcissist. 

And before you go off on some rant about how I don't know what I'm talking about, I've been in meetings with him. He is 100% brilliant and 100% certifiably insane.

I mean PayPal, Telsa, SpaceX maybe one is by accident and he got lucky but not hit after hit. I can see the insane part as well but aren't most geniuses like that.
