She has cultivated relationships with moderates on both sides, and delivered the infrastructure package. She understands the calculus of the current senate and house, and is third-way'ing. Because of the cover she's giving moderate house dems she's earned the ire of the progressive wing. And to that I say: good. Progressives want to act like they have a majority. They do not. They barely have a majority in the House and the Senate is tied on paper but with non-liberal Democrat out of WV. Progressives can shake their fists all they want, but the math is not in their favor.

She's voted with Biden 90% of the time, and she is a democratic senator for a swing state whose Republican party is acutely split by Trump; she's very popular with the non-Trump Republicans while still supporting most of the Democrat agenda. On the other side the Democratic party is dominated by suburban Dems not progressive Dems. And the Republican support for her is real - in 2018 she got 12% of the Republican vote. She is exactly the kind of Democrat who can carry Arizona for Dems whether the progressives like it or not. And again - she delivered the infrastructure deal. One things she's not is friendly with the media. They've roughed her up because she ducks them. But her chances in 2024 have not been hurt by any of this.
