He wanted to work again with Jamie Horowitz, the hard-charging FS1 programming czar who transformed Bayless and Stephen A. Smith into TV stars at ESPN's "First Take." On Thursday, though, Bayless spoke about the "hate" he allegedly encountered during his 12 years at the Disney-owned sports cable network. He painted himself as a liberal maverick who was too hot for the conservative suits at ESPN to handle, even though the WWL has been under fire from critics for its alleged left-wing slant.
