I love that line about being the most respected under Trump. Yeah, that came through when the entire General Assembly at the UN openly laughed at him.

Looking healthy and alert.

The best line I heard on this was "If you call your opponent Sleepy Joe...you have one friggin job."

Can't remember who said it, but classic.

People show up in droves to listen to this man speak. They listen, they leave, and they still want to vote for him for POTUS afterwards. He talks like an idiot, walks like an idiot, and they are fools for wanting this man as their leader. I don't get it. What am I missing?

A dead spot in your pre-frontal lobe, I believe, one common among MAGAts.

They just believe trump and no one else is my guess. They're delusional and once trump is ineligible they'll probably pretend this whole thing didn't happen

His appeal isn't really a secret. It's a combination of a few factors:

1. He acts the way dumb people wish they could act if they were rich and makes them feel like they could be rich too if not for getting screwed by the system. He eats McDonald's. He lives on grievance and constantly attacks and defames people. Basically, he's an unbridled a-hole who says every crass thing that comes into his mind. His supporters want to do the same, and they think if they were rich and powerful they could belittle people and be an enormous D and get away with it. He embodies and articulates all their frustrations and anger at how their life turned out. It's easier to blame the system, immigrants, etc. for being a failure and then vote for the guy who tells them all off. Hitler blamed the Jews. Bernie blames the 1%.

2. The Apprentice gave people the impression he is a business savant. Trump is a laughable joke in the finance world, but because of the show the population thinks he is some world class businessman and negotiator. You can point out his myriad business failures until you are blue in the face, but the TV said he is a genius...

3. They can't admit they were wrong. Most people, and unintelligent people in particular, are loathe to admit a mistake and reflect on the consequences of their own poor choices. It can't be that they were fooled by Trump, because they can't take any responsibility. It's the same with the victim crowd on the left -- saying you failed at life because of racism as opposed to simply making bad choices. There is no way they can admit they were wrong...so they double and triple down on the insanity.

4. Most people are just plain stupid.

Wait, so you mean to tell me he doesn't have a 90th percentile IQ? A reality TV game show and TEW can't both be wrong.

Whatever intelligence he once had is rapidly declining as the dementia sets in. I haven't dealt directly with him, but we were part of the ad hoc equity committee in his mid 2000s bankruptcy for the casinos. His lawyers and advisors were pretty bad, and his negotiating style was comical. He wanted to extract huge value for his name and brand (The Apprentice had just premiered like a year or 2 earlier and was the top rated show on TV), and we just laughed and told him to take his name off the casinos. He caved.

I did know his son in college - let's just say he wasn't the brightest student I ever met.
