Jokes are jokes at the end of the day, but you also gotta know your audience, and when you're at a rally that is being televised, your audience isn't just who's in the room. That's the reason it made national headlines for all the wrong reasons. These are unforced errors if you truly believe you're ahead in the polls and just need to run out the clock without fumbling the ball. If a candidate can't even do his homework to book a comedian to open a rally, how can I trust him to pick a cabinet?
