November 5, 20241 yr Just now, Bill said: Does anyone here think that Trump losing will be the death knell of the MAGA movement? Nope. I think he'll still try to run in 2028. Best they can hope for is he accepts the role of "kingmaker" and hand picks a candidate but even that seems like a stretch for him.

November 5, 20241 yr not to push thread back a page or two, but im still laughing at the uniqueness of a poster quoting andrew tate with a big sense of pride.

I think unless he's dead, we do this again with the same 2 candidates in 2028. It will play out exactly the same. The Trumpbots will claim he won't run. Then will claim he won't be nominated. Then will once again swear fealty to him and swear "this time will be different". When he finally...thankfully F'n dies...I fear that that republicans will come to the conclusion that they lost because Trump wasn't bigoted and crazy enough.

If only there were a way to put someone in who isn't actually nominated by the voters. That might be a way around all this.

November 5, 20241 yr 17 minutes ago, Bill said: Does anyone here think that Trump losing will be the death knell of the MAGA movement? Depends on a couple of things: 1. How much he loses by 2. Which party wins the House and controls Congress There are some signals out there that this could be a relative "blowout". I don't think so -- I'm sticking to my 292-246 prediction -- but, if the popular vote is leaning more female, Trump indeed loses military and union demographic support, and Harris wins by 10M or more in the popular vote then, at some point, how far can you ride a perpetual loser? If not for the candidate being an adjudicated rapist, insurrectionist and long-term crook, I would say the House vote is almost as important as the top of the ticket. If people like Jordan, Boebert, MTG, Gaetz, etc aren't given a voice in committees, then the MAGA influence dissipates. I'm also expecting if Harris wins we'll see within a couple of weeks the criminal cases against Trump will get moving again with purpose. Expect the 11th circuit to announce soon that Cannon is overruled again, and Chutkin will move full steam in the DC case.

November 5, 20241 yr Bad news from Trump. Unprecedented. You don't hear that too often regarding elections.
