It really is a testament to just how absurdly awful their message and policies are. So unbelievably bad.

Maybe some of them switched sides this time around. Lastly, maybe less people were energized this time around. The full vote isn’t even yet. Cali is sitting at about 60%. And clearly there is a ton of switching. Trumpy got 30% in the Bronx vs 10% last time. She’s running behind in every single county vs 2020

Ok, and if Shapiro chooses to run in 4 years maybe it won't be as big of an issue as it might have been this year. I don't get what the deal is here? If you want to say it will be as big of an issue for libs in 4 years, cool. I'm hoping things settle down a bit by then.
November 6, 20241 yr somoene let me know when house results are in.. I dont mind trump too much, he's entertaining. But I'm sure he's gonna go on a rampage if he gets both chambers of congress I hope he cuts snap like he planned to do in before all the shut downs happened.

Trump will F up, piss everyone off, and people will get disgusted and flock to whoever Democrats nominate in 2028. Every time Republicans strike out, Democrats are de-incentivized to be better because the opposition has cleared the way. And vice versa. It used to be the winning campaign was the one that could win a party primary, then retreat closest to the center. Now each side doubles down on partisan rhetoric during the general election campaign. The system is broken and we are just going to bounce back and forth each election cycle until somebody gets it right.

Oh, the stupid college protests are about to get put on steroids once Trump gives Bibi greater latitude. Watching those morons melt down over what they have wrought (way to vote for Jill Stein morons) is one of the silver linings here.

November 6, 20241 yr My only personal takeaway from last night is the Republican party of Ronald Reagan is dead and buried for good. There's no party that represents limited government and free market capitalist principles anymore. Both parties now are looking to expand the power of the federal government. The GOP is now MAGA and a party focused on working class voters and their grievances and reactions to globalization. The Democratic party is focused on identity politics and placating certain groups. Just cut my taxes and don't do anything too stupid, President Trump. Thanks.

Four more years of Kamblah importing illegals into swing states and then amnestying them would have been really good for limited government going forward.

The government shouldn't be in the retirement business for anyone other than people who have serious issues or are incapable of earning enough to save for retirement. The entire program should be unwound and people should get the money back that they put into it. The problem I have with Trump is I don't trust him or Republicans to get greedy and not try to privatize it. I'm certainly no expert on this stuff. My understanding is that the root cause of the Social Security problem is that actual money was withdrawn from the Social Security trust fund and replaced with I.O.U.s The money was used in part to pay for the Vietnam war among other things. Yes this goes back a ways. And it works too, as long as the number of people paying into it keeps growing. If the number of people paying into it stays the same or decreases and the number of baby boomers retiring and drawing on the fund increases, suddenly there's a problem. If the Social Security trust fund were not used as a congressional piggy bank for decades, we may not be having this discussion. How what Congress has done is different than a Ponzi scheme I'm not clear. Ponzi schemes work until those running it run out of new suckers people to pay into it. Well, I guess Congress and President can pass laws making their quasi Ponzi scheme legal. Guess which party controlled the House of Representatives from 1954 until 1994 (yes 50 years of uninterrupted majority) when a lot of this was going on? It wasn't the Republicans.
