Oh yeah, I’ll vote for Biden’s corpse if I have to…. Multiple times, in multiple states

I thought Biden beat Trump down consistently for last 2/3 of the debate. Cleanly said what he had done, got some solid punches in while Trump just went in circles as a single issue candidate who had nothing but lies about immigration and anonymous testimonials to how great he was. But those first 20 minutes or so were brutal.  Biden melted and froze while Trump was under control and semi coherent.

"Cleanly” is not how I would describe Biden’s speaking…

I thought he was pretty solid after the first 20 minutes, faded again at the end but the only time that a passive voter who isn't plugged into the daily spin could understand the achievements and points one of them was making was for about 40 minutes between the 2nd and 3rd qtr by Joe Biden.  I'd even say Biden won if we scored it round by round, but it looks like that freeze at the start is going to be the singular headline.

Had a team of dozens of highly trained professionals spend the past week, day and night, doing nothing but preparing Pop Pop, physically, stylistically, intellectually, medically….recreationally, for that 90 minutes, and that’s the best they could do.

Just an absolute disaster. Total joke that these are our two options. Feel like I’m watching the 2020 Eagles season when it burned down.

Ohhhh Harris is feisty

So which old F won tonight? I had a soccer game, not that I would've watched much of it anyway.

I think you may be letting your bias get to you. It was an absolute, unmitigated disaster for Biden. It was so bad that CNN immediately reported that the DNC is scrambling to replace him.

I wouldn’t say anyone "won” but consensus is this really hurt Biden, and I would agree with that sentiment.

The Daily Show was supposed to run until 12PM

They cut it early to air South Park

Eh, comedy central always has weird start times. Used to always cut off some of southpark and Futurama when I would record them. Dount this was ended early, probably started early

Well, there’s no coming back from that for Biden. Whether it was a bad night, a cold or he is just washed up doesn’t matter. He massively reinforced and accentuated the primary concern about him. If I were advising Trump, I’d tell him to skip the next debate. He has this wrapped up unless he makes a grievous error (which he could easily do).

I am guessing the task falls to Obama to tell Joe it is over. My personal choice would be Whitmer.

Dems best hope is keeping the senate and that is not likely

Their best hope is to convince Biden to drop out of the race and get someone else in.

I don’t know if they will do it or not, but it sure seems like this debate was the catalyst for Democrats to take such action seriously.

Harris in polls gets destroyed. Haven’t seen one in awhile but can’t imagine she does well

They knew his was this bad and the debate this early was orchestrated to get Michelle. She probably wanted nothing to do with campaigning and debates for the last year. Now she can campaign for two months, do one debate, and become president. If she somehow loses she can say she never wanted it she was trying to help her country and keep her beloved image. She will win in  landslide.

I mean one of them could have a major stroke in the next few weeks the way we are going. Biden’s health and acuity look to be in serious decline

Names I’ve seen thrown around are Gavin Newsom, Wes Moore, Pete Buttigieg, Gretchen Whitmer like Vikas suggested, and a few others.

It's going to be Michelle. She can say she doesn't want it and I believe her if it was the normal process. She can do it for a few months and walk in.

Yep it was. Makes no other sense to do one this early.

You can't tell me people in the inner circle didn't know he was this bad for a while. If they wanted him replaced by a normal politician they could have had him step out of the race months ago. I think this is about Michelle only agreeing if it went down this way. It's a win win for her. Wins and she is president and if hell freezes and she loses she will look like a hero who tried even if she didn't want it.

What other explanation for them not only having one this early but putting him up there knowing he is in that much of a decline?

As a California resident, I can saw unequivocally that Newsom can’t win. The material this state creates for attack ads is unparalleled.

Whitmer - woman, Midwest governor, smart and not afraid of Trump.

Michelle Obama is never happening.

There is 0.0% chance of Michelle running. She doesn’t want any part of it.
