As a California resident, I can saw unequivocally that Newsom can’t win. The material this state creates for attack ads is unparalleled.

Whitmer - woman, Midwest governor, smart and not afraid of Trump.

Michelle Obama is never happening.

I don’t think California being a disaster matters — Newsom is handsome and good in front of a camera, which is basically all it will take.

Michelle Obama — Agreed, I think she is happy to be rich and famous without the spotlight.

I have a friend (old money Republican type) who went to VFMA with Wes Moore and still keeps in touch with him. Swears he will be president one day and speaks very highly of him.

Whitmer/Moore makes a lot of sense.

Is he even President on July 4th?

There is 0.0% chance of Michelle running. She doesn’t want any part of it.

I don't by that. Normal year long campaign? Sure. This is 3 months and the Oval. They also just can't replace him with anyone. It will have to be someone universally agreed upon that everyone can get behind without a primary. Whitmer isn't that and we agree on Gavin.

They also can't walk back the he needs to be replaced talk. He won't be on the ticket.

I think this will get lost in the sauce but it might be an issue for voters if the Dems make it. Recently the Dems tried to pass a law on I protect IVF. But republicans shot it down saying it doesn’t solve a problem. But they probably just want to appease the anti-abortion crowd.

This was probably a reaction to a ruling earlier this year from Alabama supreme court. An ivf lab mishandled a frozen embryo and it was destroyed. The parents sued for wrongful death of a minor and won.  The Alabama Supreme Court ruled a frozen embryo is equivalent to a person. Which if you are pro-life and believe life starts at conception it makes sense. But this will probably mean IVF clinics will be next target of anti-abortion agenda.

It’s not about the campaign. It’s about being president. She’s seen it first hand. You give up a LOT to do it. The attention, the constant stress, basically a permanent state of a never ending series crisis that literally billions of people blame you for…

Why do that when you have 9 figures and a cushy gig making Netflix movies?

I’m here for the Biden-Trump golf memes, let’s get it…..

I call BS that either of them is a single digit handicap.

That was by far the best 5 minutes of TV I’ve seen all summer and worth the wait 😆

Biden definitely means mini golf and trump is in a field of 1 at his club championship.

a sad day

Isn't it much easier to replace Harris?  Then that replacement could be front and center at the convention.  Joe would step down by 2026, like we kinda thought he might last time.  Move Harris to AG to replace the unpopular Garland.

Obama is president now, and can continue being president while his wife is "president". It's what they want.  More years for barak.

So which old F won tonight? I had a soccer game, not that I would've watched much of it anyway.

No winners - just 330+ million losers

Yeah, it's way past time now for a member of Biden's inner circle to put a hand on his shoulder and tell him it's over. It would be a dereliction of duty to the country, to democracy and more importantly to Biden himself to let this continue.

You can't sell the Biden in the opening stages of that debate to the country as competent for another 4 years, you just can't, hell there has to be serious doubts about his competence now.

To be honest I'm just angry they let it get this far, it's been clear for a while that there is cognitive decline and the Dem's just called it ageism and refused to grasp the nettle, you'd think they have learned the lesson of the Feinstein debacle, while you might be able to hide a congresswoman from cameras,  but you can't hide a guy from the spotlight of a Presidential campaign for Gods sake.

I'll be royally pissed if the Dems try and bluff this out with 'lOoK aT tHE aLtERnaTivE' vote blue no matter who horseshit, I don't think it's too demanding to ask that a Commander in Chief be unquestionably mentally competent for office.

Both parties are pretty irresponsible for letting these clowns represent their them.

Well that counts out both candidates. Trump is a rambling, lying sack who thinks windmills kill whales, and there are some fine knot zees.

I blame the voters.  And McNabb.

I was hoping to be mildly surprised but it was exactly what I expected, word salad buffet. I wouldn't lose sight with just how bad and diminished Trump looked as well, this was not the fire breathing dragon who took on Biden last time.  As the night went on Trump devolved, couldn't specify anything, couldn't stay on track to answer a single question, and basically made all of his points on the backs of ridiculous BS testimonials.

I'm not advocating for either, I think Trump has any number of things that should disqualify him from office and his continuing candidacy is a rank embarrassment to the Republican party, but he looks way sharper thinking on his feet than Biden does now and if campaigning that Trump is an embarrassment is your whole campaign, that's a boatload less effective when you're own candidate can't remember whether he's answering a question about abortion or immigration, or claims defeating medicare as an achievement because he looks like he can't remember where he is.

Mere weeks ago the Democrats and Hollywood held their fundraiser then openly lied, as did many here, about the video of him freezing, the 0bama helping him off the stage. Calling the unedited video a cheap fake or deep fake. Last night must’ve been a 90 minute cheap fake.

Ok it's your day, Joe, enjoy it whenever your caretakers wake you up

Unless Trump somehow MAJORLY screws up (and that’s very possible), there is almost no chance Biden wins so stepping down in 2026 is irrelevant.
